Quality product
I haven't used the grip extensively to date, but plan to in the coming weeks. Feels comfortable in the hand and makes the camera better balanced.

Great battery grip
I bought this to add to my A7IV. Used with my FE 200-600 lens it definitely helps to balance the setup better as well as obviously doubling up on the time between replacing batteries.

Two in one
Only used this once on new camera, but have one on an A7ii and used many times.
I personally love it and wish i had one earlier.
Love the fact it shows what battery power for each one on screen.

VG-C4EM Vertical Grip
I like this vertical grip for my Sony A7IV camera. I know I can rely on a Sony product; it will support all camera functions. The grip is easy to use once installed. To install the grip, you move the battery door which does not require tools. The grip requires 2 batteries. I have used both Sony and third-party batteries with no problems. It adds weight to the camera and lens combinations, which helps me when handholding the camera. Being a Sony product, its design fits the camera like they were made together.

Sony Battery Grip

Good for use with bigger lenses
I bought an immaculate secondhand grip. First impressions are it is taller compared to the Nikon ones I was used to. This is because the batteries are mounted on their edge rather than than on their back. Otherwise it gives a useful camera shooting time before having to change batteries. Nice to have the vertical controls too.

Nicely Designed
The additional battery grip is nicely designed and fits perfectly on the A7IVA. I love the indent where you put the original body battery compartment cover. Has all the controls I need to do vertical shots conveniently placed on the grip. Nice addition to the A7IVA. Standalone price is a bit steep, but I got mine as part of a package deal with the A7IVA body, so it was about 60% of normal price.

Well made but...
As the title says but, it doesn't fit very well, there is a visible gap between the body and the grip which you can see through. I have tightened the screw as much as I can - which is quite a lot - pressed down when I tighten the screw but it's still there and I get some slight movement when I hold the grip vertically. My Nikon grips fitted much more snuggly and firmly?? I hope this doesn't affect the weather sealiing!

The battery grip is an embarrassment to Sony. The buttons on the grips failed to match the buttons on the camera. I?ve raised the record button on the camera to various custom functions, but when you shoot vertical that similarly placed button is the custom one button. Messes with your whole setup.

Lightweight but feels cheap
It?s a must have on my Sony camera which feels small. I love the lightweight construct but at the same time it feels it can be easily broken especially the battery tray which I bought 2 more extra as a backup. The fit is good though, once tighten, nothing moves.

Purchased this grip for my Sony A7 iv. I originally had a non-Sony one which although worked well wasn't man enough when it came to using a tripod as I specifically bought the A7 iv with video in mind. Great piece of kit- I wouldn't be without it.

Necessary for use with large lenses
Extremely ergonomic and well made battery grip.
As most of Sony lenses are on the large and heavy side, this hand/battery grip is necessary for steady handling of Sony's compact cameras.

Probably need to replace
While in the vertical position the shutter button does not focus. In that position, focus can only be done using back button focus. Sony Pro Support says not serviceable. I have lived with the issue but not sure if it is designed to work this way, so another one may perform differently.

Excellent feel and ergonomics! Smaller than my Nikon grips/battery packs, but still allows a full and secure grip.
