It works as well as my Canon 600EX II- RT except that it has a battery level indicator AND it works as an optical S1 or S2 slave unit. It's not built as well as the Canon flash but these two items make it functionally superior. It's less than half the cost of the Canon unit too.

I haven't played around with this too much but I already love it. Perfect for most indoor situations this flash is going to help my photography a lot. I really like the fact that my camera can control it wirelessly.

Not bad for the price. However, some times it won't turn on and have to move the batteries.

Decent piece of kit. Works fine right out of the box. I was pleased with the purchase, though if I had more money I would have invested in the Canon version. Only issue is the manual is not very good, so you'll need to go to other sources to figure out how to use the equipment with your camera.

I had been meaning to try this flash for a while and finally did. I currently own two other Canon versions and so far here are the differences: The build quality on this feels good but swiveling the head feels less rebust. This flash actually has a startup time too (maybe .3 seconds?) which hasn't really affected performance either. Performance-wise, it seems to drain batteries faster. Once the batteries pass a certain threshold, the flash simply won't work. As far as the ETTL/exposure, it seems to consistently overexpose by .5 f stops. Again, nothing too major but worth knowing, IMO. I don't mind these setbacks though because I intended to use this as backup to my two Canon 600EX's and as a trigger. Definitely worth the price difference though!

I bought this flash as a spare in case I have to send one of my three Canon 600 EX Flashes to Canon for maintenance or repair. I also find it useful to have a fourth flash for the type of work I do. The Yongnuo is surprisingly similar to the Canon flash. The menus are a little different, but the flash functions fine and works well wit the Canon flashes. It even looks the same. There are differences and the build quality is less than that of the Canon, but for $ it's a pretty good deal. My Canon flashes are real workhorses and have lasted a long time. I am very curious to see how long the Yongnuo lasts...

These are great. I have two of them. They are so similar to the much more expensive canon version and are almost just as good. It’s tiny differences for so much less money.

I was only able to use my YN600EX-RT for one wedding before it quit working. I would save for a cannon RT flash. Don’t waste 100 bucks on it.

I love the similarities to the Canon. It’s a great flash and does what it’s supposed to. The only drawback back is the build, but then again for $ bucks it’s what you would expect.

I just got 3 of these, more or less to try them out before deciding to officially jump to the higher price Canon "equivalents", or vastly superior products in all actuality, upon trying these out. I had owned 3 of the original Canon 600 EX-RT's and have had them for about 5 years. They have taken a beating and survived, they are solid and still living, but are at the point to where they themselves are starting to burn out and require maintenance. Now, come the Yongnuo's... What can I say? They worked ok, for about half of the first event I took them out to shoot with, the day I got them. Thankfully not a wedding. At about that time, one of them, the one on camera to be precise, decided it didn't want to let me turn it on in the group functions anymore. It had a prompt choice to be turned on, but it wouldn't go no matter what I did. I did everything I could think of to get it to turn back on. I found a workaround, but nothing that fully remedied it's initial problem. This is enough to make the reliability of this product a break for me. If within one shoot a single flash's functionality fails, it's not even worth the price put on it. I'm not going to risk the failure of the others in a short period if I decide to keep them. Plus, they aren't very quick and radio connection is more spotty than the first Canon 600ex-rt's. These things need a lot more work before they're taken seriously. Yongnuo is just a money suck company with products that shouldn't have even been put on the market to begin with. The IR beam is also a joke, just like all other models of hot shoe flashes. It's a small circle, barely big enough for the center 9 AF points. I'm returning these right away to eat another 1100 for the Canon upgrade. I'm both sad and glad that these disappointed so quickly. Canon here I come!

For someone that goes through flashes like candy, this is a great replacement for the main brand name speedlight. Does the same job, but you can buy several synced usints for the price of one brand name. Especially great for us who work with high-speed flash photography (freezing water drop collisions etc) that requires synced units preferably out of the same batch.

These are great strobes and I would have 5 of them if I would stop dropping them. It's a good reason to have extras. I also have the yongnuo wireless transmitter. Never had a single problem.

Don't let the price deceive you. This flash is pretty much an exact replica of the canon version, which is like 4 times the price. I'm a wedding photographer and rely heavily on my lighting equipment, yongnuo products are awesome and get the job done.

It’s my 3d Yongnuo YN600EX RTll Soeedlight flash I brought from Adorama this year. Performance is comfortable with Expensive Canon Flash and one can appreciate great price point. One can build whole studio with these versatile flashes

I had been reluctant to replace my old Canon 430 EZ to a model that was designed to work with my Canon 80D due to cost. The 430 EZ was for an older film camera. I mostly use available light, or continuous light sources when I do studio work. I rarely use flash, but do like to have it available when needed. I have only had this a few weeks and not used it much, but it seems to do all that is advertised. It recycles very fast and so far I have not had the overheating problem others described. A good value.

Cost-effective alternative to the Canon's 600EX speedlight. Using it with a Canon 5D MKII. This is my second Yongnuo Speedlight, I’m happy with the product and quality.

This flash is used along with another one just like it. It works great for indoor and outdoor lighting when natural light is not available. The price is excellent for the product.
Following in their trend of great build quality, ease of use, and professional-grade options and capabilities, Yongnuo's YN600EX-RTII speedlight is a great flash option whatever your lighting needs may be. Take full advantage of these capabilities, and take your photography to the next level.
The YN600EX-RTII unit is a cost-effective alternative to Canon's 600EX flash. Operating on the 2.4 GHz radio flash trigger system and E-TTL / E-TTL II metering, Yongnuo YN600EX-RTII yields a a powerful guide number of 197' at ISO 100 and 200mm as well as an impressive zoom range of 20-200mm. A wide-angle panel of 14mm coverage makes it an important tool for full-frame cameras. Bounce lighting is also supported with tilt from -7 to 90 deg and rotation left and right 180 deg.
In addition to wireless radio technology, Yongnuo YN600EX-RT supports standard optical pulse triggering for compatibility with both Nikon and Canon flash systems. In every flash the crucial factor is speed, which is why Yongnuo gave it a a recycle time of about 3 seconds and fast 1st and 2nd curtain synchronization settings. It also has a multi flash stroboscopic mode for multiple flashes during a single exposure. It runs on 4 AA batteries and comes with a case and mini-stand.
