I bought this lens refurbished and it was in top condition. I use it for video and it is highly functional and versatile. Great in low light and for interviews.

I use it for theater and low-light photography and when I want good bokeh. Good clarity. Great lens to have on all the time. I haven't done many portraits, but I think I'll do more now. Used lens is in fantastic condition and includes all parts.

This lens has replaced 3 lenses in my bag. It is simply a great, all-purpose lens. Build quality is tops, photo results over the entire aperture range are excellent and the lens just does such a great job (as to be expected from a "L"). If your dollars are important, choose this lens over the Version II and save yourself $800. Just keep in mind the lens is not a lightweight.

This is the 1st version of the 24-70 "L" f2.8. I have been using it for a week and am thrilled with the quality and performance - particularly knowing the Version II is roughly $1200 more than what I paid for this used Version I. The lens is very clean with virtually no wear visible. Optics are clean. Pictures are great - sharp with good contrast. The only bumps that my headline refers to were minimal considering the final result. Adorama is intent on satisfying their customers.

This lens is all I was hoping it would be. I was nervous about buying used, but the lens was in near perfect condition. This is my first L series lens that I've purchased so I was surprised by the weight of it. That took a little getting used to, but was not insurmountable. The picture quality is amazing with this lens. So far, I have mainly used this as a walk around lens and for some portraits. It is very sharp and has great color. I will have to experiment more to find out what else I can do with it.

Lens box arrived a bit banged up during shipping but it was well wrapped with bubble wrap to protect it from bumps. The lens works great and seems to be the quality it was rated. The lens hood has a few marks on it but otherwise in great shape.

The is the lens I've needed to bridge the other Canon "L" lenses I use. This is the 3rd Canon Pro product I've purchased used from Adorama and like the previous 2 (EOS 1Ds MkII and an EF70-200 f/2.8L IS USM) it came exactly as advertised. The only issue was the omission of the Canon lens pouch that was advertised as one of the accessories.

I sold my 24 105 f4 in order to purchase this lens. Even thou the price was twice the price I believe I made the right choice. My 24 105 had been my goto lens for the last two years. I'm looking forward to the images I will be getting with the 24 70. Also I own a 70-200 so I will cover all of the bases.

I bought this lens to complete my lens arsenal. I also own the Canon 70-200mm f2.8 lens which I use very often. I am happy to have a comprable short range lens to use. It is excellent for low light situations. It is a heavy lens but gets the job done. I am in love! In addition to the lens being great I have to say Adorama was excellent to work with. I bought this lens used and I honestly cannot say that it feels like a "used" lens at all. The lens was in great shape, as Adorama had indicated. I believe it is a credit to Adorama and their review system as well as to the quality of this product from Canon. This is a lens that I will own for a LONG time.

This has been my 'dream lens' for the past 2 years. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and with Adorama's quality of used equipment. This lens looked BRAND NEW in its original box and case. I use this as a portrait lens, and the focal range is perfect for that. I have read complaints that it is too heavy, but this hasn't been an issue for me (and I'm a small gal). In my opinion, the heavier weight confirms the high quality glass that it is. The red stripe around this lens says it all - it is top notch. This is my favorite 'walk around' lens and it rarely leaves my camera. I haven't used the 24-70 f2.8 ii version, so I can't make comparisions there, but I highly recommend purchasing this lens if it comes available through Adorama's used store.

this is a little heavier lens than I'm used to, but like I was told, they don't call it the brick without good cause. However, it is bearable, and in time you'll get used to it. But definately recommended for everyone.

This baby's staying on my 5DMII. Had the 24-105 for a long time but decided to see what I was missing. Whatta difference! I should've tried sooner. So far, shot outdoors with amazing results. I love the colors produced from the lens. Will have to try indoors next. Weird that the lens extends out when shooting wide, but hey, as long as it keeps making great pics.

I absolutely love my 24 - 70 f2.8L. I had borrowed one from a friend and was incredibly pleased to find that the focus seems to be even sharper on mine than on his. It is a wonderful lens for all different sorts of shoots and one that I see myself shooting with for years. The only downside is that it is heavy, but I think it is well worth it for L series glass.

A classic lens. I am still playing with it and so far have been very happy with it. I replaced an kit lens with this. It is expensive but worth the money.

I am in love with this lens! It gives beautiful bokeh, and I love how wide of an angle you can get. It's great for events and weddings, when you want to capture the surroundings, as well as your subject. Beautiful portraits. I highly recommend.

My stock lens: this replaced the 24-105mm f/4 that came with the 5D Mk II. It's sharper, faster, covers the most frequently used focal lengths, and doesn't require distortion fixes in post 99% of the time. Yes, it's heavy; yes, it lack IS. Nonetheless, this is the lens on the camera most of the time when quality counts.

I love its speed--my only suggestion is not attaching lens hood to the front element instead of the middle of the lens-make it like the 24-105 L. That way it would be a bit smaller and easier to put in my bag.

This is one of my favorite lenses. This is a great "walkabout" lens. It's a little heavy but that's what you pay for.. quality built lenses are rarely light. It's a bit pricey and I wish it had IS but that would add more weight and $$$ and it is a pretty fast lens and short enough that I don't see it as a huge drawback. I think Tamron has a 24-70 f2.8 with IS for the same $ but I love this lens.

My first L series lens and man is it amazing! Took it on a wedding this past weekend and came out with so many amazing, sharp pictures. Even the professional photographer there was using this lens about 85% of the time. Only thing is that I expected it to focus a bit faster though, especially being an L series lens, other than that, one heck of a lens.

This lens stays on my 5D Mark II 98% of the time. That's about the highest compliment you can give a lens, I think. Have captured low light images, at night, hand held at 50mm using a shutter speed of 1/13th of a second, with no motion blur and surprising sharpness. It definitely doesn't need IS. This is a workhorse lens that lets me adapt to almost any situation instantly, and not just get the shot, but get usable shots that consistently impress. I think if you consider that it's a life...

Great lens for a great brand!
By Sean W.
The low f-stop makes incredible indoor shots at weddings without even having to use a flash! The construction of the item is amazing also, as I have had mine since January, it has yet to show ANY wear on it at all and I take it through alot!
Incorporates many advanced and exclusive Canon Lens Technologies to provide improved performance, including the use of two different types of Aspherical lens elements, and a totally new UD (Ultra-Low Dispersion) glass element for obtaining sharper image quality. Canon's original ring USM (Ultrasonic Motor) makes autofocusing fast, accurate and silent, down to a reduced minimum focusing distance of just 15 inches.
