Decent lens, but I'm exchanging it for the 16mm 2.8 as it's newer. Extremely satisfied with Adorama. Easy to do buisness with.

I recently purchased the XE-3 and went for the XF 18mm f2, because I wanted to have an all around lens that wasn’t too big for the camera’s profile. The whole reason I got the XE-3 was as a “pocketable” camera. I didn’t expect too much from this lens, as it doesn’t get the best reviews, but let me tell you, the image quality from this lens is top notch. It performs so well and is fast. Glad I went for it. No regrets.

I'm happy with the lens. It makes my X-T1 a whole new camera. I can't wait to hit the streets of NYC with that set-up. I would recommend the lens and the price dropping 150 dollars and free shipping sealed the deal for me. Sincerely, EricT

I love this lens. Since I bought the Xe2, I've had experience using several lenses on it (18-55mm, 55-200mm, 27mm and a bunch of lenses from other companies including the voigtlander 15mm). I'm sure that for pro work the 14mm and 23mm are unbeatable. That being said, it's the 18mm that stays on my camera almost all the time. It's almost as small as the pancake 27mm and it works perfectly for every shooting and really shines indoors. I never use flash and this lens is always taking great pictures. You can even get decent bokeh if you stand close to your subject. Because it's so small I end taking my fuji with me everywhere I go. It's not really a wide angle, but at 27mm full frame or film equivalent it's wider than any of the 35mm I had been walking around with for years. To be free from a DLSR and still get such great image quality means a lot to me. All of fuji's lenses are great but this little lens is all a person would have to have for the brunt of enthusiast level work. I don't pixel peep my photos anyway but except for the occasional lens flare I haven't got anything bad to say about it. I don't even use the lens cap (one of the biggest gripe about fuji lenses).

The lens is great. Very sharp and hardly any distortion. The one thing that could be improved is the cap that comes with the lens hood. The cap is supposed to cover the lens hood whenot using the lens. The hood however will not stay on. It keeps falling off even when the lens is in the camera bag. Suggest a re work on that so the protective cap is more secure.

I use this lens on my X-Pro1 when I prefer a wider viewing angle than the 35mm. The 27mm (35mm equivalent) focal length gives enough wide view to be a great walk-around lens. My edition arrived in a timely fashion from Adorama and performs similar to statements in the majority of reviews. Very sharp in a large center area, a hair softer in the corners, especially at wider apertures. Vignetting creates no worries. The f/2 aperture is great to blur backgrounds, even with this short focal length. Autofocus is reasonably fast, but given the 18mm focal length and its subsequent larger DOF, manual focus becomes a fun option with this lens. Stay in aperture priority mode and choose f/8 or f/11. Set focal point to provide a good sharpness range (the camera shows this in the viewfinder). Then just walk around and shoot. Great technique for general shots at events with surprisingly good results (many usable images). The optical viewfinder still provides a bit more coverage than the lens itself, so it still provides a good view of what will be captured by the sensor. This makes the 18mm a bit more useable as a general walk-around lens and reduces the need to use the EVF than, say, the 14mm. While the Fuji X system provides a well executed approach to having full control over basic functions, it requires some acclimating when you have larger hands and are switching from big DSLR cameras. The lenses in particular, and the 18mm is no exception, have thin focus and aperture rings. Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend having this lens in your kit. The 35mm is sharper, but the 18mm gives you a lot of creative freedom.

Decent small lens, but I notice a bit of CA on the edges in bright settings.

Make every shot count with the Fujifilm XF 18mm (27mm) F/2.0 Lens, a game-changer in the world of photography. Designed specifically for Fujifilm X series cameras with APS-C sensors, this lens is your ticket to a realm of unparalleled sharpness, clarity, and low-light performance.
Despite its compact "pancake" design, this lens is a powerhouse of wide-angle photography. With an equivalent of 27mm in the traditional 35mm format, it's perfect for capturing the vibrancy of street life, the grandeur of sweeping landscapes, or the intricate details of interior spaces. Its ability to focus as close as 7.08" ensures that no detail goes unnoticed.
The XF 18mm F/2.0 Lens is constructed with aspheric and ED elements, effectively combating field curvature and chromatic aberration. This means your images stay distortion-free and true to the original colors.
Shooting in low-light conditions is no longer a challenge with the lens's bright f/2.0 maximum aperture. This feature not only facilitates exceptional low-light captures but also creates a pleasing bokeh effect with its 7-blade aperture design. Your subjects will stand out beautifully against a soft, blurred background.
The lens's 1/3-stop click stops aperture ring offers precise exposure settings, eliminating guesswork and enabling you to adjust your lens with pinpoint accuracy.
The design of the XF 18mm F/2.0 Lens places the rear element as close as possible to the sensor, minimizing back focus distance and reducing vignetting and color shading. This ensures your captures are consistent from edge to edge.
Key Features at a Glance:
Compact 27mm wide-angle "pancake" lens designed for APS-C sensors
Aspheric and ED elements for superior image clarity and reduced aberrations
Bright f/2.0 aperture for exceptional low-light captures and beautiful bokeh effects
0.14x maximum magnification for capturing minute details
