It works exactly as advertised, use with confidence. It accepts my Ai and pre-Ai Nikkors with no issues whatsoever. If Nikon were to release an update to this adapter, I'd suggest one serious area for improvement. Some kind of external weather sealing, around at least one of the mounts, if not both, would inspire greater confidence in me. The piece does exactly what it claims to do, not what certain photographers might imagine it could do. If you read carefully the product details and set expectations accordingly, you will not be disappointed. Nikon are a fairly honest business but they are not miracle workers.

Works well as a lens adapter, however as others have noted the bump on the bottom can create conflicts when a tripod adapter is attached. If a tripod adapter is attached to the FTZ you cannot turn the FTZ far enough to remove it from the camera without first removing the tripod adapter. Other than that it has worked fine with a number of Nikkor and other F-mount lenses. I have heard stories of slower focusing, but I have not experienced that (compared with D750 and D810)..

I can use all my F mount glass on my new Nikon Z 6 II body with no loss of quality or speed. Very nice for a long time Nikon user.

The adaptor perform as expected. The FTZ II maybe a better choice if you dont need the lens tripod mount. I used it this week with my 70-200mm 2.8 VRII while shooting a wedding. It preformed good without hunting for focus. I also used it with my 16-35mm and I had the same result.

Works well and as expected. A bit stiff to install/remove but I see it as a good thing. Makes sure there is a good seal to prevent dust and other things from getting into camera.

So far the thing does exactly what I needed it to do. I have been taking photos of my flowers and backyard pets during the lock down. Staying busy is something I learned to do while recovering from many major surgeries. I needed to upgrade my camera and didn't want to have to replace all the lenses. This works out perfect!

Does what its supposed to do at the advertised additional weight. Make sure that you what lens it works with and how it works with them before purchase. Used with a 6 pound lens, f2.8 300mm, just fine. For lighter lens without a tripod bracket this unit must be mounted to the tripod as it interferes mechanically with the mirrorless camera tripod mount. It?s sturdy.

Thank you, Nikon! The F-mount to Z-mount adapter is easy to use and works very well. The FTZ balances well and its length and weight are unnoticeable. True to its history, Nikon made sure old Nikkors are compatible with its new Z cameras. Back in 1978 I went through Nikon?s introduction of AI and was pleased then that Nikon developed a way to convert old Nikkors for use on its new cameras. And now, likewise, with the FTZ adapter I can still use my pre-AI and my G series Nikkors with my Z 7II. I am most thankful the FTZ allows me to keep using my all-time favorite portrait lens, an AI-modified Nikkor 105 mm f/2.5 K, that I bought in 1976. I have attached all of my thirteen pre-AI and G series Nikkors to my Z 7II via the FTZ. Auto focus and metering with the G series lenses is as quick and as accurate as it is with my D700. However, being manual lenses to begin with, the pre-AI lenses require manual focusing. But they do benefit from the Z 7II viewfinder?s focus indicators (front and rear focus arrows and the in-focus circle). Metering for exposure and for color temperature with pre-AI lenses is equivalent to that for contemporary lenses. The only problem encountered using my copy of the FTZ is the exceptionally tight fit of my 35/1.4G and of my 50/1.4G Nikkors. Both lenses were tight going on and almost impossible to remove, especially the 50. In fact, I was afraid the amount of torque I had to apply for decoupling was going to cause damage. Consequently, I will not attach those two lenses again. The other Nikkors attach and detach snugly and easily.

Users beware! Not all FX lenses will work correctly in autofocus using this adapter. All other functions seem to work fine, but autofocus may or may not. I have not tested with a DX lens though, so can not advise on that.

It?s a great add to Z mount camera, one thing I was not aware was there is no glass element on the converter, it simply adds the proper distance for the focal plane, so you still get the best quality form your F lenses. I had the F Nikon trinity lenses and did not wanted to upgrade all in one go. So this is helpful. However, my primary reason to upgrade was to get in to videography and even with the shortest lens (14-24 f2.8) the set up became too front heavy and I was not able to balance it on DJI RSC2 gimbal. Also, Nikon should include it for free for anyone buying a Z mount camera(or at least the expensive once). An the end of the day it?s just a price of plastic with wires.

I bought the Nikon Z6ii camera body and the adapter because I'm not ready to drop all the money at once to switch to native lenses (though that's the goal). Works perfectly with my F-Mount lenses. Totally worth the purchase cost.
