I rate Adorama's service a 5, but the battery itself? I have 2 monolights and so far so good with one. No issues at all. The other got put away for about 3 weeks still showing full charge and when I went to use it again, completely done. No charge, won't charge, can't reset it. It's life in a nutshell. I charged when I received it. Tested it 2 days later. Used about 3 weeks later for some pictures and put away for 3 weeks again charged, took back out and done. It's being replaced but it's on backorder. when they work, i love the lights and battery. I'd recommend because Adorama backs it well, so if you get a faulty one, it will be replaced.

Highly recommended product. I am using this for portrait outdoor shoots and headshots. Battery life is very good. The battery case design is looking nice. Battery is not getting heat so quickly.

I really love this strobe is like a nifty filthy (50mm lens) for your camera not too much power and not that less of power it works perfect it over powers the sun but is a little bulky but it does a great job for Indoors and outdoor photography.

In terms of being a battery that powers a light - great. But if these batteries drain/you don't charge them for a few weeks, they do not recover, and they're expensive to replace.

Love this! Use it as a backup battery for my monolight. The battery lasts very long.

The battery that came with my kit drained too far and couldn?t recharge. Adorama was fantastic with getting me a replacement. Bravo to their customer service.

My battery is no longer recognized by the charger therefore cannot be charged. If the charge is allowed to get too low the safety circuitry shuts it down preventing it from being charged.

Flashpoint advertises this as a battery capable of 390 full power flashes. You must be kidding me. My new Xplore Pro can only deliver 180 flashes. 200 if used without engaging the fan. That's half less than advertised.

I had to order a replacement because the one that came with the Unit failed me. Lucky I got it sorted asap by Adorama and for free. I understand you do have to charge at least once a month, whether you use it or not. My friend also advice, to remove the battery from the strobe when charging. I?m already considering getting an extra one.

It's a battery. Doesn't last as long as I thought it would but I now have two so I can switch them out. Each one lasts for about a 1 - hour headshot shoot. Definitely you need a backup one.

The battery becomes dead very quickly. The manufacturer recommendation is to charge every 3 months. I did not use mine much and tried to charge it after about 45 days and it would not charge. The battery was already dead. I would like to thank Adorama for replacing the battery without any cost. I would recommend charging every month or at even shorter periods if you are not using it regularly.

The battery should handle more flashes. I have 3. They get nowhere near the 300+ full flashes. More like low 200s on everage. I get double the flashes from 2 ad200s together than one ad400. I have to recommend yes as there isn’t another battery option but when there is an alternative then I’ll be getting that.

this is a battery I bought so that I can return a bad battery. After receiving this battery I still cannot charge it. it just sits on the charger with a red blinking light on the charger. No green bars on the charger at all. finally I ordered a charger too. The new charger powers up on turns solid red and cycles though the green bars without any battery on it. the new charger will not charge the old battery but it will charge the new battery. So a few months my battery and charger went bad. I have been working with customer service which is great to do all this and they say I can return both the bad charger and battery. this is my next action. I will still give it a recommend as I assume I am just very unlucky with this one.

I used one of these to cover a wedding. It survived the day with juice to spare. They hold charge flawlessly. I have to say that I think that they are pretty hard to fully deplete. I have to use the modeling lamps to make sure that I fully kill the battery (I hear that's good for the battery). They hold a perfect charge for months it seems. My backup wasn't used for some time and it was still full when I finally needed it. The recycle time is incredible (under a second). Unless you spray and pray, it's about as fast as you are. The recharge time is fast. Unless you're shooting at full power and often, 1 battery can easily handle the average person's workload. You only need more than two if you are shooting commercially or if you have a bad habit of overshooting.
