Rokinon 35mm F/2.8 lens is real small and light. But its image is great. The sharpness and color all good. I like it very much. This lens could be used both indoor and outside. Hope it will be with me for a long time.

Good lens, small size, lightweight, good photo quality. The built quality is not as good as Sony and Zeiss of course, but can't complain for its price.

I am more than happy with this lens. There are no bells and whistles and it doesn't feel quite as solid as an expensive lens, but the image quality is really excellent. I have paid much more for lenses that are not as sharp as this one. It is already very good wide open at 2.8 and really fantastic as you close down. It is super light weight. For those times that you don't want to lug your camera around, hiking for example, this lens is perfect. It's like a standard focal length lens on a full frame camera with an equivalent of 52mm. The lens "shade" is a bit bizarre, but I already had a 40.5mm filter for the PZ16-50 kit lens (which is nowhere near as sharp) as well as a third party shade that mounts to the kit lens via a40.5 to 52 mm step up ring. I just unscrewed the filter with shade attached and it fit right on the Rokinon and works great (see photo). I don't think you can go wrong with this lens! Love it!

This lens is worth every penny and the best part is that it's not going to break the bank. It's absurdly small, light weight, sharp, minimal distortion, and fast. It makes your alpha look like any old point and shoot. Definitely great for travel, street photography, and casual shoots.

Solid lens for the price. I shoot professional imagery with this. It feels cheap but makes the camera lighter for street missions. Image quality is pretty good and on par with the Sony equivalent. AF is a little slow.

Great lens and incredible value! Clarity is noticeable better than the kit lens that came with my Sony A7II. Best part is it makes my A7 almost/sorta/kinda a pocket camera! (In a big coat with big pocket of course) : )

Rokinon 35mm f/2.8 AF is a super compact lens and works well with mirrorless cameras. Amazing depth and clarity of images, I believe it is a great addition to the lenses toolkit of any photographer.

Reading about others having noise while focusing. Whether for photographs or video I have a copy that is as close to noise free as I could ask for. Shot video w/ moving subjects day one for long shots at a time and no focus noise was picked up in the video. Also it is quick to focus, has pleasing sharpness and colors, makes for a compact package on my A7Rii and works very well as a 50-ish lens on my a6000. Great little lens in my experience.

I bought this lens to keep my A7 as small as possible for when I am working my day job or just out for a walk. I can typically fit my whole camera in a decent sized coat pocket. The image quality is very nice, and the depth of field is pleasing for something so small. Autofocus isn't the best. But that is not a major issue for me as I tend to shoot in manual focus most of the time anyway. As for the focus motor noise, I have to put my ear within a couple inches to hear it. It is only marginally louder than my other Sony FE lenses.

I was wondering if i got a defective lens, but read the other review and realized it was the same thing... GOOD: very light and small. Great picture quality. BAD: noisy focus motor make it sound cheap and tinny. Also complicated by the need for the lens to "hunt" when focusing. My other FE lenses are quick and quiet. This is the opposite.

Cool little lens BUT a video problem / issue. I have an A7sII with a G master 24-70 (huge and heavy) and needed a small lens to run around with for general photos and videos. Photo wise this is a nice, inexpensive auto focusing lens - although it is slow to focus and hunts focus too much. I WOULD keep it except for one real problem: It makes a HORRIBLE clicking/ticking noise while in video mode. You can easily hear it being near/around the camera and it ruins a video. Hey Rokinon VERSION 2 needs a quiet motor and you will have a winner! ?RETURNING IT.? Bought it here via Amazon. Video at Amazon with the noise.
