This is a great lens! I bought it for doing real estate videos and there is no distortion whatsoever. It's an amazing lens at a low cost. I definitely recommend!

I was looking for a lens to do milkyway photography on my D5200 (ie 16mm on a crop sensor camera), and found one used at an awesome price point. Naturally after buying it the weather went south for months after buying it, which pretty much happens after buying any lens. Aug 31 I was finally able to use it under some decent dark skies and I was very impressed with what I got out of the Cygnus Region. The attached photo was a stack of 32 exposures 30s F2.8 Iso3200 no tracking just a tripod. I may even try it on my D750 however I usually put my 14mm F2.8 on that and use this one on my 5200. If you looking for an 11-16 on a budget definitely give this one a look.

Honestly, for what the lens is, excellent lens. I use it for video on the BMPCC6K and it gets a little soft/vignettes on the edges when you are all the way at 11mm. Really have no complaints about it since it's a zoom lens and not prime. Very happy with the color rendition this provides. I'm a fan of the slight flare it provides. I will add that when light shines directly on the lens, it does get softer/washed out unlike other primes that don't do so as much. It is to be expected on this lens for this price point. Not sure how I hadn't gotten it sooner for my wide establisher shots. Not for everything, use it as it is ended to be used.

Great lens with high quality glass. The lens is well built and feels substantial in your hand (doesn't feel cheap and light). The MF/AF is different than on Canon lenses (the ring at the end of the lens pushes out/pulls in) but works great and is easier to use in low light/dark shooting.

Very happy with the lens. I replaced my older version (AT-X116 Pro DX ) with this one and have been very pleased with less light flare! It?s a workhorse and great value for real estate photography!

I?m still getting use to this lens. It?s better than the 50mm I was using. I was also able to use it in a low light setting and the performance was on point without any issues.

This lens has been exactly as advertised. When I’m shooting real estate or architecture it rarely comes off my camera, and the results have been terrific.

Lens is very sharp at f5.6. Lens is great for interior pictures. But man, lens flare. The lens gets lens flare even when the sun isn't in the frame. I had lens flare from sunlight coming through a window not in direct line of sight of the lens. Even with the new coating. I can't wait to use this for astrophotography and the milky way. Just not for any sunlight.

I have only had this lens a few weeks. It has very good focus & clarity. The lens gives me an added fun dimension for landscape photography. I hope to use it for astrophotography soon since it sports an f2.8 aperture. There is slight distortion, as would be expected with any ultra wide lens, but very little. I was pleasantly surprised. I gave it 4 stars, instead of 5, because I had a difficult time finding a lens case to fit it. It is very wide when the hood is attached. I spent considerable time researching cases. I highly recommend the Medium Barrel case by F-Stop.

Awesome lens for chasing meteors shooting above my deck - most wide angle lens I can get for my Canon 90D. Outstanding for landscape scenes along water.

Great ultra-ultra wide lens

Awesome lens for chasing meteors shooting above my deck - most wide angle lens I can get for my Canon 90D. Outstanding for landscape scenes along water.
When capturing breathtaking landscapes, chasing meteors, or shooting cinematic scenes, the Tokina atx-i 11-16mm F2.8 CF lens for Canon EF is a game-changer. This lens has been meticulously redesigned to enhance user experience and deliver superior image quality. Its constant F2.8 aperture ensures excellent edge-to-edge sharpness and resolution, making it a favorite among both photographers and cinematographers.
The lens boasts a unique anti-flare feature that significantly reduces ghosting while maintaining exceptional contrast and color fidelity. Its new waterproof top coat not only adds to its durability but also simplifies the cleaning process. The wide-angle view provided by this lens offers a cinematic feel, minimized breathing, and no edge distortion while panning, making it an ideal choice for gimbal work.
One of the standout features of the Tokina atx-i 11-16mm F2.8 CF lens is the One-Touch Focus Clutch Mechanism. This innovative feature allows for effortless switching from autofocus (AF) to manual focus (MF). In AF mode, simply snap the focus ring back toward the camera to engage "real" manual focus control, providing photographers with an authentic tactile MF experience. The focus ring's directional rotation aligns with the proprietary direction of Nikon and Canon lenses, adding to its user-friendly design.
The lens incorporates a complex optical design with 13 elements in 11 groups. It utilizes two aspherical lenses, including a large aspherical P-MO element and two all-glass molded Low-Dispersion (SD) elements. This advanced design effectively suppresses chromatic and spherical aberrations, ensuring crisp, clear images every time. The front element offers super-low distortion and low light fall-off, ensuring straight lines and minimal exposure vignetting. This makes the Tokina atx-i 11-16mm F2.8 CF lens perfect for architectural photography, landscape photography, astrophotography, and cinematography.
