Stunning. You'd have a hard time convincing me there's a better value in binoculars out there. For something 1/10th the price of top-end glass, these deliver on every front. Focus is quick and buttery. Image is crisp, bright, and colorful. Field of view feels like it's a mile wide. 8x isn't huge magnification, but that's not what I'm wanting. These are about taking in a scene, and they do a great job at that. 8x is as much magnification as you want for that. These glasses are my go-to. If I want to zoom in tighter on something, I have a pair of 12x50 for that (Nikon Action). But when you go up to 12x, you lose the scene. And the image gets very jumpy. One thing most reviewers don't mention: these are very good for smaller faces. I have narrow-set eyes (56mm) and these close in just tight enough. I tried the Nikon Monarch M7, which also claims to go down to 56mm, but the eyepieces were so big they wouldn't clear my nose bridge. The Celestrons don't have that problem.

They arrived on time (and on a tight schedule), worked beautifully to sight wonderful wildflife in Alaska... and were light and portable. I chose them because they were mid-priced...I love to be out in nature, spotting wildlife and birds... but I am not a fanatic such that binoculars of $1,000+ are required. So at about $350, a perfect choice for me. I have used less expensive models--- and all have been heavy, unwieldy and in my opinion, hard to use.

These binoculars have a bright crisp view! They feel good in the hands, and seem well built. The only draw back is a bit of blurriness around the outer ring, but it has a big field of view so maybe that’s worth it. The blurry edge is evidently addressed in their royal series, but they only make those in their larger heavier objectives. I’d like to see them add an even more compact model, maybe an 8x25 in the royal series??

We purchased this item as a gift for a relative. She just started bird watching and loves these binoculars. They certainly fill the bill for her needs. Thanks to the reviews and recommendations of this product we selected the right item for the job.

These binoculars are a good value. I bought them because they were recommended by Wirecutter, and also after a lot of online research. They are bright and have a very large field of view. They’re also solidly constructed. Their smaller size feels comfortable to grip for long periods of time. The magnification wheel was a little stiff right out of the box, but it has already loosened up.

I am very happy with my new binoculars. The clarity and focus are excellent for my purposes. I use them primarily for viewing bird but I have also used them for viewing stars and planets. I LOVE them!

5 stars for the binoculars, 3 stars for the harness, 2 stars for the item being back-ordered and taking forever to arrive, and 0 stars for the strapping system not being quick-release!

Take your outdoor exploration to the next level with the 8x42 TrailSeeker ED Roof Prism Binoculars, a superior choice for birdwatchers, hunters, and nature enthusiasts alike. These binoculars are packed with advanced optical, mechanical, and ergonomic features that rival those found in binoculars priced significantly higher.
The TrailSeeker ED binoculars boast Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) Objective Lenses, a feature that virtually eliminates chromatic aberration or color fringing, a common visual defect in many binoculars. This technology ensures edge-to-edge sharpness, excellent color correction, and razor-sharp images. Celestron's high-quality ED glass offers visibly brighter, sharper images compared to non-ED binoculars, a difference that becomes particularly noticeable in low light conditions such as dawn or dusk.
These binoculars also feature fully multi-coated optics and phase- and dielectric-coated BaK-4 prisms. The term "fully multi-coated" refers to all air-to-glass surfaces being coated with multiple layers of anti-reflectivity coatings, allowing maximum light to pass through the glass to your eye. The high-quality BaK-4 prism inside the TrailSeeker ED is coated to reflect more light and divert it through the eye, resulting in brighter, more detailed images.
The body of the TrailSeeker ED is crafted from lightweight and durable magnesium alloy, coated with rubber to withstand hard use in the field. These binoculars are fully waterproof and filled with dry nitrogen gas to prevent internal fogging of lenses, ensuring they can stand up to even the toughest outdoor conditions.
Comfortable viewing is guaranteed for both eyeglass wearers and non-eyeglass wearers, thanks to the durable twist-up eyecups. These binoculars feature a close focus of just 6.5 feet, making them perfect for viewing birds, butterflies, plants, or other nearby subjects. However, they also offer the magnification needed for distant subjects, plus a wide field of view for easy tracking of moving objects.
The TrailSeeker ED binoculars come with both a neck strap and a carrying harness for your comfort. They are also tripod adaptable for extended viewing or digiscoping sessions (tripod adapter sold separately). A protective soft case is included for safe storage or transport. Experience the versatility and high performance of the 8x42 TrailSeeker ED Roof Prism Binoculars on your next outdoor adventure.
