Very pleased with this mount. I Have several scopes and mount/tri pod set ups. Pay attention to the listed weight capacity and it provides a solid , medium weight set up. Once polar aligned it will "track" via the RA knob only. I've used it with a 6" reflector and a 5" SCT. Add the motor drives and you'll be impressed.

This mount is really the holy grail of equatorial mounts. It has the pedigree of the Vixen SP and GP. mounts. What really struck me about this purchase is that I ordered this mount yesterday morning at 2am, and it arrived at my house at 4:45pm today. Talk about wonderful service. The mount I bought will be used with my AT115EDT. This scope weighs in at 17 pounds all dressed out and the CG4 handles it with no problem at all. Whether you are a seasoned astronomer or just beginning, I highly recommend this mount.

This mount lasted me 2 years. the mounting bolt stripped out. Asked how much to repair, answer was 289.00, looks nice, worked well, but it isnt reliable. It will give, and hope you dont have your favorite scope on it when it does.

I am very happy with this telescope. I bought it because I read it was for an intermediate user and I was ready for that challenge. I found it easy to put together and easy to use. It feels very sturdy due to the tripod being rather heavy. I have to take it outside in two parts. I don’t know how long I’ll be patient about that. One complaint is I hate that white cup that covers the R A setting circle. All the knobs are close together so that cup gets bumped and drops to the ground many times a night. Really annoying! Over all, I’m happy I bought this telescope and look forward to improving my skills.

It is a heavy and sturdy mount. Everything was easy to put together. It comes with a spot for a polar scope, but you have to buy the polar scope separately. The slow motion controlls are smooth and feel great. Overall im quite happy!

The Celestron CG-4 is an excellent tripod. Extremely well built and very solid. This is an excellent value as getting a quality product for a very reasonable price. Would very much recommend the CG-4 for any telescope.

I purchased this mount for use to photograph the Solar Eclipse. This mount is ideal as you can manually track the sun and moon without "stepping". This mount is built extremely well and is very sturdy and light enough to carry into remote locations as needed. You can add a motorized unit for fine movements and a pier to raise the height of your refractor scope. Super solid mount that is a pleasure to use. Works and looks perfect. Only had one issue that was easily fixed. The Right Ascension knob was a little tight with some stiction when I unpacked it but a few sprays of a silicone lubricant freed it up and it is silky smooth now. I also called Celestron with the intention of purchasing a second set of slow motion control knobs so I wouldn't need to reach far depending on my target. To my surprise they didn't sell extra sets, BUT, they did send me an extra set free of charge as a "replacement set". Very cool of them to do that!

It is difficult to reach the dec and ha controls when you are at the eyepiece of a 6" refractor. Would benefit from some control extensions to make it more user friendly.
