While the Catta 70-135mm T2.9 Cine Lens for Sony E, White, draws its name from the agile and curious primate, its design and functionality are anything but primitive. This lightweight and compact lens is designed to empower cinematographers to explore a myriad of shooting possibilities. As the third zoom series from DZOFILM, the Catta 70-135mm T2.9 is tailored to meet the growing demand for high-quality images and compatibility with larger format cameras, such as the Red V-raptor 8k.
Covering a golden focal length range of 70-135mm, this lens allows for the creation of cinematic images without the need for frequent lens changes. Weighing less than 1.6kg, the Catta lens is constructed with polycarbonate and glass fiber, ensuring a durable yet lightweight shell. This makes it an ideal choice for diverse shooting projects, including live shows, indie filmmaking, vehicle shoots, and documentaries.
The Catta lens boasts a precise parfocal design, making it compatible with gimbals like the Ronin s2 and Crane 3s, perfect for capturing rapidly moving scenes. With a 16-blade diaphragm and an aperture range of T2.9-T22, it produces round and smooth bokeh, ensuring a natural image transition. The close focus distance further enhances the lens's ability to capture fine details and the unique characteristics of the subject.
Embodying a design philosophy centered on authenticity, the Catta lens reproduces real-world images on a comprehensive sensor, facilitating realistic scene recording and post-production color mixing. The lens also features improved breathing control, ensuring minimal breathing during focus racking for a more immersive viewing experience.
The Catta lens comes with a 77mm detachable front filter and a plug-in rear filter, allowing for easy filter changes to enhance the shooting experience. The lens's mechanical and optical construction adheres to the unified standards of cinema-grade lenses, with a manual focus range of 270 degrees for a smooth operating experience. The Catta 70-135mm T2.9 Cine Lens for Sony E, White, is a perfect blend of wide-angle and telephoto capabilities, offering a seamless articulation for every cinematographer's toolkit.
