Has a few settings within the camera, noise priority, temp priority, high and low. Really, it seems like the fan switches between either high or low. The low is a very subtle whir, making you stick your ear next to it to wonder if it's even on and working - it is, but it is quiet enough to likely not show up on an audio recording at all, especially if using a microphone attachment. The high setting is very capable and effective, with a notable but not too bad sound, definitely enough to come through an audio recording. Keeps the camera cool. Purchased it for shooting travel video in Thailand and Southern California heat waves and general hot climate. Have yet to overheat or have any problems while using the fan, but have not yet tested extensively.

X-H2S Mirrorless Digital Camera
This low noise, multi-speed cooling fan brings added versatility to X-H2S in warmer climates, or when sustained video performance is desired. Powered and controlled entirely through the camera body, the fan's metal construction naturally channels heat away from the camera body and attaches without any needs for tools or separate screws.
