Better than I expected!
I have only used it for three weeks in the Northwest where the sun rarely comes out, so slow shutter and higher ISO was required. Hand held the IS really worked well. I also have a 35mm f1.4 that I use with my X-E2, so comparing edge sharpness should have been distingtly better with the 35mm, but it was not. The IQ is way beyond what I was expecting. Amazing! It's a keeper and I really recommend it.
Really good lens!
What a surprise! I was not expecting this XC lens to be so good. I got this lens for my X-E2, which came with the XF 18-55mm f2.8 lens. I also got the XF 35mm f1.4. I found it interesting that the XC 50-230 set at 35mm produced photos that were very close to the more expensive 35mm f1.4. At 100%, they are equal. The difference at 400% enlargement is noticeably falling off on the edges, but I really don't care. My photos are not for wall-size enlargements. It would be rare if I used it for nig...

Designed specifically to fit the Fujifilm X series mirrorless cameras, this lens features an F/4.5-6.7 maximum aperture, with an f/22 minimum aperture range. The powerful 50-230mm lens lets you beautifully capture your subject at a distance with clarity. The all-glass 10 group / 13 element lens configuration includes 1 aspherical lens and 1 ED lens.
