Perfect for my grab and go setup.

Purchase for my TV 85. The light, compact tripod works as part of my ?grab and go? setup. The tripod supports the TV 85 quite well. Very solid. Hardly any shake even at high magnification.

Excellent stability

The stability is excellent, even compared to my larger heavier Gitzo tripod. Used it in windy conditions with both our scope and large lens cameras.

Great product but wish it was a little faster to setup

Well made for sure. Extremely light weight and sturdy. Theres only 2 things I dont like about it: 1) if you loosen the lock nuts too much they fall off (which i guess its designed that way for maintenance/cleaning)....but it gets some getting used to as Im not sure how much I need to loosen it by 2) Setting it up is slower than my other tripod that uses quick release levers. But again, i think its designed this way for more precise adjustments rather than speed.

Expensive but worth it

Expensive? Yes, but you DO get what you pay for. It is amazingly stable for its weight. I put a hitchhiker Astro mount on it and a 90mm short refractor and it's surprisingly stable - I end up with just 6lbs for a mount and tripod for a 6lb scope, which will go with me to Chile next year!

About Gitzo Traveler GT2545T Series 2 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod, 26 lbs Capacity, 60" Max Height

The Gitzo GT2545T Series 2 Traveler carbon fiber tripod is the strongest professional, headless 4-section travel support with an 180deg. leg folding system pioneered by Gitzo, which enables its legs to reverse-fold around the center column and an optional ball head, allowing it to fold down to 44.5cm. The GT2545T weighs 1.33Kg, is taller than its predecessor, extending to a height of 154.5cm and holds up to 12kg of gear. It is recommended for use with 200mm lenses (300mm maximum). With its included short center column inserted, the tripod gets down to 22cm for low-angle or macro shots.

This tripod has the largest tube diameters in the Traveler range. It features Carbon eXact legs for superior strength and stiffness and the "Traveler G-lock" - a travel-size version of Gitzo's G-lock, specifically designed to ensure security in more compact tripods. Its specially-designed rubber feet are easily interchangeable with Gitzo's optional feet (e.g. spikes, large feet). The Gitzo GT2545T has a 1/4" and 3/8" top attachment to easily attach heads or other accessories and comes with its own shoulder strap for comfortable carrying. It is the ideal tripod for professional photographers who use longer lenses or require the highest stability on the move.
