The LEICA D-LUX 2 is a small compact digital camera with 8.4 megapixels. It is equipped with a LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT 6.3-25.2mm f/2.8-4.9 ASPH lens (9 elements in 8 groups) with a focal length range of 28 112 mm (35mm format equivalent). The three selectable image formats with differing resolutions 16:9 (8 MP), 3:2 (7 MP) and 4:3 (6 MP) will be trendsetting. The large and brilliant 2.5"display (207,000 Pixels) facilitates easy panning and selection of perspective. The built-in flash unit is either activated automatically or manually for fill-in lighting and is neatly concealed within the camera body when not in use. A number of programmed motive modes as well as the manual setting options allow both fast as well as creative/individual photography. The large display renders a viewfinder unnecessary, thus allowing the very compact design. Due to its clear cut design it blends perfectly into the family of Leica cameras!
