Often a great shot is complicated by "busy" surroundings. The selective focus area of this lens solves the problem nicely and saves post-photo processing. The very wide F/2.5 opening helps a lot with low-light photographs.

I now use the Lensbaby Composer Pro with the Sweet 35 Optic almost exclusively in my sports and street photography. After shooting with "standard" lens for all of my career the Lensbaby system makes me feel like a kid again. The Composer Pro is very straight forward in it's design and function. As is the Sweet 35 Optic. The learning curve was very shallow. Once you have a basic knowledge of how the system works all thats left is to have fun. And I have been having a lot of fun since making this purchase. Thank you Lensbaby and Adorama!

It is amazing how a "busy" backgound can be minimized with one of these. I use the widest lens opening and let the camera pick the shutter speed. It could not be easier!

I have had this lens for two weeks and must admit that it takes some getting use to. However, if you take the advice on the web page and start out usinf f4-5.6 things become easier. I also like that the manual nature of this lens is helping me expand my photographic knowledge and skill. I like this lens but if you are not patient it may not be the lens for you.

It will give your light meter issues which I understand why. It is very sharp even with the Sweet 35 optic and a professional lighing setup. It could be very difficult to focus for users that don't understand how this lens works. It can create very nice bokeh and interesting looks. The jurry is still out on this one. I will still keep playing with it.

I'm a portrait and fashion photographer - and I bought this to be able to add interesting focal points when working in the field or at events. The lens is manual and therefore your ISO and shutter speed determine your results. It's definitely a better result when using high contrast scenes if you shoot in low-light environments - but it's a lot of fun. The manual tilt mechanism requires a little playing with before you use it in any kind of pressure situation - but after a few hours of manipulating it, you should be happy with the ease of use.
