We used it just recently at the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington DC. It made it very easy to have everything we needed handy . . . in fact, my 14 year old daughter volunteered to carry it because it was so easy.

The area where you store your camera and lens has only one opening, which makes it hard to get the lens you want without opening up the whole pack.

This pack is replacing the sling version. I needed to be able to distribute the weight onto both shoulders and this bag works very well. The waist belt helps distribute the weight onto ones hips as well. I wish the two sections were slightly resized. The lower compartment seems a touch smaller than the sling version. I carry either a Nikon D90 or a D3 and it is a slightly tight fit when several lenses are added in. I haven't had the bag long and I suspect that more time spent reconfiguring the partitions will help. If you are looking for a bag for hiking with your equipment, I would certainly suggest looking at this bag when choosing. I do wish the bag had straps to add a tripod but, again, I suspect I will figure out some method. The computer storage area is great and easily fits my 16+ inch computer as well as a few discs and other wires.

This backpack allows me to store all my gear in one place. Now when I go anywhere to take pictures I don't have to rummage through the closet to get my equipment together--it's all right there in one bag. The backpack appears to be well made and even when loaded with all my equipment it is still comfortable to wear. I've also been impressed with all the nooks and crannies this bag has to accommodate the small items I carry around like filters, extra batteries, SD cards, etc. The ability to access my camera without having to take the bag completely off is a really handy feature. I must mention, however, that while getting to your camera with the backpack on is possible, accessing other items requires that you take the bag off. Since I don't have a laptop computer I can't comment on how well this backpack accommodates that item but I have been able to use that space for other purposes. Based on the quality, utility and price of this bag I am very pleased with my purchase.
