It works well. Be careful when setting in place, it did pinch my finger the first time.

I regularly do multiple photo sessions a week where I use two MagBox Pro 36 as my rim lights in sports portraits. I am a one person team having to set up all my equipment, so anything I can do to save myself time is important. While these are not the least expensive strip boxes out there, the fact that I can set them up (as well as break them down) in about 30-40 seconds makes it worth it for me. The build quality is also very good, I have been using mine for 3 years and they have held up great. I just purchased two more The only negative is they don't come in a 48" size - hoping MagMod comes out that version soon.

I like the concept and ease of use, however the zipper on the outside already broke. Doesn't affect anything but still a bummer it broke.

I purchased this for headshots and I absolutely love it! Easy to assemble and disassemble, lightweight, and I love their magnetic system. Easy to pop on and off the mount however strong enough to stay on and withstand being moved around. While my tripod is not lifted to proper height in the photo you can see the set up, visual for size, and the strength of the magnet.

I used the MagBox Pro 42 Friday night at a local state park for a family shoot for the first time. I'm still in awe of the soft lighting and how it evenly lit the two year old boy standing on the ground. I was running around the park with the 24" as well and the shots are beautiful! I couldn't have done it without MagMod! Thank you!

I have to make this work because I loved the light quality but unfortunately, its very heavy, the first day I used it with my strobe it fell off when I tried to adjust the light stand and it broke the $100 bulb. Very sad.

Don't forget to add the specific MagRing 2 you plan to use to your, I mistakenly assumed it was included given the video and other photos. Duh. Make sure the ring you select fits the speed lights you'll be using.

I have mixed feelings on this one ? has a great deal of potential, but the magnets aren?t strong enough to hold the box on stand. It constantly falls off with slightest movement. Also, the grid falls off and has become difficult to install ? this after owning the setup for about a year now. I have all MAGMOD?s products and regard them pretty high, but this one leaves a lot to be desired?

The ease of use of the MagBox Pro 42 makes location shoots so much easier than most alternatives for groups of 6+ people. It's light weight design and incorporated diffuser enables me to work alone (although a study stand and sandbags are a must). Excellent addition to my gear bag.

I loved (and still LOVE) everything about the MagBox 24" but when the MagBox Pro 42 was released, I was over the moon! I'm a sucker for large soft light and this modifier fits the bill. It breaks down and sets up in seconds and the new zipper design on the front diffusion makes this process so much easier. You never have to worry about the diffusion coming off and you possibly losing it. They've also incorporated a a nice pouch built into the inside of the MagBox which allows for storage of the front diffusion when it's not in use. Super convenient! I'm also a huge fan of the magnet system for attaching Grids, which is way better and less noisy than using velcro usually found with other brands. All in all, this is the perfect addition to the kit and a great compliment to the full MagMod product lineup.

I have been using this 24 octa from Magmod since they opened their doors. I finally had to replace it this last month, due to one of the umbrella arms broken from being dropped. But it has lasted me for years!!! And it has dropped off a bridges (30 feet down with 2 AD200 lights attached) and nothing broke. Love my magmod equipment!!! The magnets makes my job so much easier for setups and teardowns.
