I waited to order this at a lower price but then the prices went up so I bought it at the higher price and am still happy with the purchase. Quality is pretty good. I added an arca swiss adapter so I can use it with my MILC.

looks just like the photo. Works very well. Am satisfied. took a bit to overcome the return spring, wish they didn't put on on this model as my Canon XA-11 is a light camera and the return spring is a bit much.

I am very satisfied with the Manfrotto MVH500AH fluid head. I have used it with my Nikon d850 and a 70-200mm f/2.8 Lens. The head is very smooth panning and tilting. Not only is the fluid head great for video but I also used it for still photography. I would recommend getting the Manfrotto MVH500AH fluid head.

This head is used with a Nikon 20-60 x 82 Field Scope ( Birding ) and it works great. I would consider no other head for scoping. Solid as a rock and the best value for this application. After getting one for the scope I got a 502 for my camera rig.

I purchased this product because I needed a light weight fluid head for videography during long treks. The head certainly is light but it has no way of adjusting either horizontal or vertical drag. The closest thing is to tighten or loosen the horizontal or vertical locks on the head. Not only is this imprecise, but it is impossible to pan or shift vertically smoothly. I'm sorry I bought this. I guess you get what you pay for.

I love this head so much more than the larger one that cost twice as much. (can't remember the name) It is much more sturdy despite its size. Perfect combination with the monopod.

We bought 12 of these for use with Sony PXW-X70 camcorders. That brings our total to more than 50 Manfrotto tripods. I keep coming back to Manfrotto because they are student-proof, and if something does break, they are easy to repair. My only surprise with these is the plate does not slide in from the rear, like our others; it is a tilt-in and tighten-to-lock system. But, the plates are all interchangeable and any of our cameras will fit on any head we own.

Once I read the manual, I was finally able to work the tripod. My old Manfrotto is over 20 years old. I really like the light weight and strenght.

I like the how easy this fluid head adjusts and moves. Most of the time my ball head will take a backseat to the Manfrotto fluid head.

New design has quick release that you can use with existing plates you own. New design makes me want to swap all my Heads to new versions.! My favorite for small video cameras / DSLRs.

A great head for DSLR with Video. Still shot or HDV. Right weight and mass to keep the camera from getting lost in the hardware.

This is my first time using the video head on my setup for shooting video: Canon EOS 70D + EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM + Vello BG-C10 w/ 6xAA Eneloop batteries, total weight 4.3LB. It balances well and works smoothly as advertised. The only weak spot, from my observation, is the pan movement lock knob which feels easy to break if you put too much force on it. This is the only reason why I took one star off. Overall, it is a great video head for DSLR video shooters with moderate gears.

At first I tried to save some money and purchase one of the bargain, sub $150 video tripods. This was false economy. While it may have been a bargain, it was apparent the build quality and the functionality was not there. It was returned and I purchased this Monfrotto tripod. The difference was significant and positive. Well thought out design and a much higher quality. At 6'4", I thought the maximum height of this tripod would possibly be an issue. I was mistaken. It functions well. The included case is well built and should last for years. I would recommend this tripod to anyone wanting a quality video tripod without breaking the bank.

The fluid head works like a dream. Video panning at any angle, even multiple angles and direction changes, is smooth as silk. This has made a huge difference in our videos taken with our DSLR. Couldn't be happier. Price is great too.

I am a professional photographer learning video. This works perfectly with my Manfrotto tripod and is simple to use. Smooth pans and tilts. For a beginner in video, has everything covered. The hardcore pros likely need more, but a good starting place that seems like it could be in service for a long time.

I was looking for a 701, until I realized that has been discontinued, and this guy is the new fluid head. I wanted something small, and light to use on a slider for smooth panning while sliding. Specifically chose this model because it can be screwed on, tightened, and with the flick of a tension screw, the head can smoothly rotate. It is a tad heavy for a dedicated small camcorder head. Fluid tilting is excellent. The new base plate design I am on the fence about. On the one hand, it can be put on in a snap, literally, and I like that the head is backwards compatible with previous base plates. The downside is the stock base plate on this model is not backwards compatible with older heads :( Also, the locking handle and base plate tension knob are now one little switch, that you push down to open and twist to tighten, but it's designed like a thumb pick, not like a round knob and I feel that if they kept it round, tightening would be a couple twists faster. All's said, I am satisfied with this, but not having the older model to compare it with I can't judge whether or not this is an improvement. It is smaller(ish) than the current 501 head, but what I really could have used is a 561hdv head on a swivel. Gear: canon HDSLR.

I use with Canon 5D Mark III for panning shots and this head provides ultra smooth results. set up was easy and it fit nicely on my existing tripod. I especially liked the way I was able to balance the camera, there was enough adjustment to compensate for a heavy lens.
