This is a fabulous manual focus lens that really works well on the Nikon Z 6 II in my case. Beautifully built like a tank, ?all? metal, very sharp and clear at 0.95, just a fun piece of kit to use. Focus ring is smooth and precise. For the price, this lens is hard to beat. That being said, my only major complaint is the lack of electronics to communicate with the device. A minor complaint is related to the de-clicked aperture ring, it is great for video, but since I shoot primarily images, I would prefer one that is clicked. A switch for click/n0-click would have been a nice compromise.

Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase. It's great for portraiture and indoors shots and not so great as a general purpose walkaround lens due to the flaring and bokeh at longer distances. 3.5 stars Pros: +f/0.95! +Creamy bokeh for things closer than ~5 feet +Solidly built +Long focus throw making it very easy to focus with peaking +Performance from ~f/1.6 onward Neutral/Average: *Colors *Contrast *Dreamy at f/0.95, especially when focusing on objects closer than 3 feet away *Performance at f/0.95 (usable and comparable to competitors) Cons: -The lens has major problems with point light sources at night leading to wild lens flares. -Heavy -Nervous bokeh for things further than ~5 feet -Lens hood attaches loosely

Zhongyi Optics (ZY Optics) have released the new Mitakon Speedmaster 50mm f/0.95 version III for full frame Sony E, Nikon Z and Canon RF cameras. Offering a natural 50mm perspective along with an ultra-fast f/0.95 maximum aperture, the Mitakon 50mm f/0.95 is a compact prime characterized by its bright f/0.95 aperture to suit working in low-light conditions. It also affords a great degree of control over depth-of-field for isolating subjects from the background and producing selective focus effects.
The new version III features a new optics design which offers a slightly more compact size and a better flare resistance. A carefully-designed 10 elements in 7 groups optics system with 1pc of HRI (High Refractive Index) & 5pcs of UD (Ultra-low dispersion) elements successfully minimizes the chromatic aberrations and delivers exceptional image quality. An eleven-blade diaphragm helps to produce a softly diffused out-of-focus rendering (bokeh). The enclosure of the lens is made of metal to strengthen its durability.
