Perfect travel lens. I would give it a 5-star if it were a 2.8 aperture. Excellent build and optical quality pair perfectly with my OM-1

I like this lens and want to like it at 5 stars. My only reservation to date involves construction - this one does not feel as tight as my other PRO telephotos (12-40 F2.8 and 12-100 F4.0). The first day I took it out I heard a noticeable clunk when I routinely moved the camera into shooting position (nothing quick or violent about my movement). I quickly surmised that the noise was made by movement of the barrel inside the housing. This happened whether the lens was locked or in shooting position. I checked it against my other PRO telephoto lenses and found perceptibly more movement with the 8-25 barrel. I haven't tested it in all the conditions of intended use, but so far I'm pleased with results. As I continue to use it, I hope to upgrade my rating to 5 stars.

I purchased this lens to accommodate my professional shoots I do for Real Estate on a new OM-1. It most certainly has met my expectations and needs. I rarely even need to bother with a flash. There is near non existent distortion which saves me big time in the post processing of my images Highly recommended.

The 8-25mm f/4 Pro lens is most versatile at 8mm (16mm equiv.) because it allows photography of objects and scenes otherwise impossible due to crowding of the subject matter (usually a building). Some of the peripheral loss of the canvassed image due to often necessary distortion correction can be provided for by aiming high, since much of the top of the image is usually lost. If the keystone correction is not enough in Olympus Workspace, a 2nd stage of vertical correction can be helpfully applied in the secondary imaging software, though of course there is an absolute limit. On the whole, this lens, with its provision for ease of filtration, gives the landscape and architecture photographer a whole new world of imagistic opportunity. The reviewer never pushes the lens to maximum aperture (f/4) since maximum depth of field and sharpness without diffraction are naturally best obtained at f/5.6-f/11. We think the results with the 8-25mm M.Zuiko zoom lens under these conditions will astound and please the most discriminating and demanding photographers looking for uncommon results.

I wanted an ultra wide zoom lens for my OMD EM1 Mk 3. I considered the 7-14 f2.8 but with a limited zoom range like that I felt I would be taking the lens off too often. Then I saw the 8-25. Even though it is slower at f4 I have not noticed this limitation, although I have not tried it for Astro yet. I like it because it works great in combination with my 40-150 f2.8. I have not missed the narrow 25-40 range that this lens combination leaves uncovered. You will not regret purchasing this lens.

Great new Olympus lens, lighter and (slightly) smaller alternative to 7-14mm f2.8, and has filter threads! I will still use the 7-14mm 2.8 for indoor work, but the f4 PRO lenses, combined with Olympus? unmatched image stabilization, make this the ?go-to? lens for outdoor wide angle-to-normal focal lengths.

Perfect size. Fast enough. Expected M.Zuiko Pro quality. Ideal zoom range for walk about, cityscapes, landscapes, and I hope to try it out on panoramic shots soon.
