Has a high degree of chromatic abberation. I bought it a couple years ago and am now trying to unload it. Will try a higher quality lens.

I wish inexpensive, but good quality optics had been available when I began my interest in photography. Historically, Pentax optics have been the finest lenses from Japan. Although this new lens is cheaper than Pentax's best lenses, the contrast and resolution are quite good.

I more often use wide angle but am so pleased to have this lens in my kit for candid photos of people or wildlife. It was most useful in evaluating wind damage to antennas on a commercial tower --detail was excellent. Although it is surprisingly mechanically long when zooming, it is well balanced.
