Super All-Rounder!

Fantastic sound, surprisingly close to 416. I boom it wireless into a GoPro, using a Zoom F3 as a preamp, or just use a AA Energizer rechargeable lithium when space doesn't allow. Not as full sound as MK 8050 but the ability to use a battery is a huge advantage. 100% woud recommend for all tasks, indoor or outdoor, until your budget allows for an MK 8050 for specific indoor vocal work.

Don't get the kit. just get the mic.

The sound that comes off of this microphone is clear and clean. The battery powered phantom power works like a champ and has been extremely handy in situations where a powered interface isn't reasonable. I regularly use this with an Atomos Ninja V and am entirely satisfied with its performance. I received the MKE 600 as part of a kit with the H&A Professional Windshield for Shotgun Microphones. I would not recommend anyone else do this, as the windshield's performance is sub-par. But the microphone itself is stellar.

I was missing out on audio.

I had the rode video micro I believe first and I thought I was set on audio. It wasn?t until I broke down and upgraded that I realized the difference this mic has made. It?s got that nice mid to low end I?ve been missing but really nice high presence as well. Pretty solid buy!

Sounds good, is good

Great mic at this price point. Solid construction and a good neutral sound. Great mic if you can only have one shotgun.

Impressive Performance On Reducing Adjacent Noise to Subject Being Recorded

So far only used on one occasion, but did a great job of reducing the sound of a band close to the subject being recorded.

Good microphone

I used it for recording audio indoor to Tascam DR100 mkiii. The sound is good. Personally, I cannot hear much different to Rode VideoMicro recording at similar position. It is probably over-skill for my scenario.

This microphone sounds amazing. I have many different ones from Sennheiser. Like the MKH 416 and it holds up awesomely by this microphone. We use them for boom mic video audio.

Shotgun mic for cameras capable of handling the most demanding filmic challenges. Effectively attenuates noise coming from the sides and rear.

The MKE 600 is the ideal video camera/camcorder microphone able to handle even demanding filmic challenges. Due to its high directivity, the MKE 600 picks up sounds coming from the direction in which the camera is pointing and effectively attenuates noise coming from the sides and rear. The switchable “Low Cut” filter additionally minimizes wind noise.

SEMKE600

Because some video cameras/camcorders do not provide phantom power, the MKE 600 can also be battery powered. A battery on/off switch prevents the battery from discharging prematurely; “Low Batt” is displayed.
