The above windows had limits of about 3 words, so I'll try again. I like this lens alot, but it did not serve my desires as much as I thought it would. I wanted a super-wide with exceptional glass to compliment my 17-35. What I got really doesn't measure in at "12mm" it looks more like a 14 or so, which means it really isn't easy to trek with when other things are worth the real estate in a compact bag and this lens has so much overlap in range vs my 17-35 (I shoot for travel mags and assignment and normally carry an 80-200 2.8, 17-35 2.8, 28 2.0, 50 1.4, and a flash and a few filters - another lens is a big chunck of space!!!) The other thing is that you MUST use a flash because of the extreme vignetting caused by the lens when using the on-cam flip-up flash... Now, if Sigma, or any other quality lens maker would make me a truly 12-20 superwide in the 2.8-3.5 range or even faster, I'd sell my boat to buy it, but this isn't quite it...
