This awesome monopod handles my D500 and 200-500 lens + 1.4 tele with no sweat. Enables hand-holding for all but the extreme long shots that I probably shouldn’t be attempting anyway.

This is a great monopod. Weight to payload is excellent. Build quality is excellent. I like the flip-style leg locks as opposed to the 224S photo/video with the screw style. My biggest question mark/concern is that this model, 224S multi-function, has less stable base feet. Look closely at picture of this model compared to other. The feet are far less functional. If I had to do it over, I would take the more stable feet over the flip-locks. I also run this with a Sirui VA-5 head. For the most part this works. I have to really make sure all the rotating body parts of monopod are locked tight to you pan function on my head. Far too often I find myself panning, only to hit a point where the whole monopod starts turning throwing off my shot. Annoying, but can be remedied with some careful once overs.
