Easy to use starter mic not the best quality but it is better than no microphone or forgetting to turn mic on. Again not the best quality but better than no mic

Confirmation says order shipped weeks ago. FedEx doesnt know when it will ship. Sony is impossible to get in touch with. Terrible experience.

It doesn't have any controls for audio, which is expected. The sound quality is quite good and I like the different modes (gun and zoom). Overall, good for the price.

I own about 4 of these Mic's. It's been a love hate relationship. I love the fact that I don't have to charge or replace batteries and don't have to remember to turn it on and off. I shoot mostly outdoors and with a dead cat over the supplied wind muff there is hardly any wind noise as I get with all of my more expensive Mic's, I have a youtube channel with about 5k videos and people always comment on how great the sound is. The first 3 I owned I always got the nag that the Mic was not compatible with any of my Sony Camcorders, but the only one they didn't work with was my AX-33. The nag is a nuisance when you are trying to turn it on and shoot something quick because you can't see the image past the nag. The 4th one I bought from B&H and for about the past 2 years never had a problem with the nag. I've always been careful to remove it after each use and put the cover back on the mounting foot and place it back in it's little supplied bag. Now all of a sudden, I'm now getting the nag with it, but it appears to be working fine. I was just about to buy my 5th one, but I was surprised how much they have gone up in price. If I get the nag with the new one, I will for sure send it back. At least I haven't got one with a broken switch right out of the package like I did when I bought the Sony remote mic that they wouldn't make right because I didn't open the package right away.

Frustrated..... a good camera still lots positive reviews but no many audio recording options. Not even compatible under Gun mode. However, lots good review about it n a6000. Cry....

I bought this mic more than a year ago for my a6000 and it worked fine for a while, but recently it started to make a "chirp like" digital noise whilst video recording. It is so loud that you cannot here anything else in the video. I tried to look for solutions online, cleaned the shoe and the mount, nothing helped. I don't know what else to do...

Just bought the mic to use with my newly purchased a6000 camera. The mic does not work AT ALL in either of the two modes, gun or zoom, and the built in camera mic just stays active. Why ????

I use it on my FDR-AX33. I like the zoom feature: as you zoom in, background noise is diminished, and subject audio is brought up. Small, convenient, effective.

This is an affordable shotgun which works conveniently with Sony's multi-purpose shoe to provide a tighter pickup pattern than the onboard mics. It even has a zoom mode, which tightens the pattern even further as the lens zooms in and opens the audio pickup pattern when the lens zooms out. It's inexpensive, but unless your audio needs demand the highest sensitivity and audio quality, this mic will do the job.

This mic provides more clarity and better tonality than the onboard mics on my a6000. Good for vloggers although a lavalier mic might provide better audio.

Better quality audio than interal mic on HX400V! But the design is not very good becuase it will easily break off the mount and then you had to buy a new one!

I bought this for the A6000 and as stated only works in one mode. Not a good endorsement for the product. I bought an A7Rii and I believe it's suppose to be compatible but the camera doesn't indicate it's attached. Granted it does fit the universal hot shoe so perhaps that's what they mean by compatible?

The Mic is great no complaints about that but this goes only on the hot-shoe of the Sony cameras. no other option to connect it to the camera

At first I didn't get it, brand-dedicated mics can be used without connecting cables; check this out to make sure? Just gab the mic and lock it on your camera. Very fast and convenient.

I don't do a lot of video but this makes a better mike than the built in mike on my a6000. It's nice for the price and small and light weight to carry on or off the camera.

The microphone is not supported by the a6000. I get a message every time I insert the microphone that says the microphone is not supported by the device and it has yet to work.

This microphone is listed under handycam accessories. It does not fit on my handycam. After reviewing the package I realized it is for the cybershot camcorders. This is very frustrating and a huge waste and disrespect of my time. PS. We have postal codes in Canada, not zip codes.
