Ive always had sony digital cameras, and this one has been the best, the pictures are very clear. I really dont have anything against it ive had it for about 1 month now and it has worked great in sunny, cloudy, rainy, At night anytime of the day anyday. I took it to a concert and the lighting was perfect. You can imagine how much light there was there and the movements the camera wouldnt catch them the pictures were very still and great. Thanks Sony!!! I really Recommend this camera if you want something new in fashion and good.

While the camera is sleek and compact, the pictures are often disappointing. Pictures taken in ideal daytime lighting are very good, any other lighting will leave you with noisy disappointing clarity. I have had other Sony cameras with Lower megapixel support and better quality images in lower light conditions. The camera is overpriced for the quality of its pictures. The price would be justified if some of the advanced features worked in anything other than perfect daylight conditions.

I have a Sony 8 mega picture camera that i love the pictures it takes but the size of it isn't that great. I got this camera thinking that it would take even better pictures but i was wrong. The pictures look like a camera with less than 5 mega pix instead of 12. If i could return it I would.

I am a photographer and normally shoot with a Nikon D300. My camera is large and heavy however is a pro-grade body. I wanted something for just carrying around and with the ability to take HD video. That's when I saw the Sony DSC-T900 camera. I saw that it took HD video based on the label at the store and had 12.1 megapixels. My main purpose was to mainly be able to record video since I already have a camera but something that was good at both. Picture wise like someone said in another review, pictures when you really look at quality is awful. It looks good on the Sony camera itself, but when you put it on a computer, you'll see lots of grain in the image even at low ISO levels. I changed the camera to shoot at low ISO shooting outside on a sunny day and was still disappointed. It will give you pictures that are semi acceptable for people who don't do photography all the time. Video wise I'm pretty satisfied with it. I wish the camera took pictures as well as it takes video. Very simple operation and the zoom is acceptable for this size camera. I bought a 16 GB memory stick duo and it takes over 200 min of video. I've never had to keep it running for that long. Most of my clips are at most 2-3 min. Good thing is the format it saves it is MP4 which is easily readable. I use this with my macbook pro and it ties in seamlessly. Using video drains the battery pretty quick. I'd buy 2 batteries if you're trying to shoot at various points throughout the day. So the thing that also bugs me is, when I try to take pictures, the picture on the LCD display looks awful up until you click the shutter button. I don't know why this is the case? So basically you look at this highly pixelated image and click the image. When it takes the picture it looks very clear. I don't know why when shooting it can't be clear all the time. Shooting with the auto feature is great for just point and shoot users who don't know how to change settings. Overall I'm happy with the camera. Disappointed at the base memory gives. It's not even useable and you can't even shoot one video test clip with it. I think it's like 15 mb that they give you internal. USELESS!

I have had this camera for only a short period of time, and usually use my DSLR but needed a slim point and shoot for those everyday shots. I took it out on the beach a shot a few test shots of some friends, the water, the sand, and the surroundings...wow, what amazing pictures this thing took. The wide angle shots were great so I am not sure what is going on with the other review that said the photos were bad...possible issue with the camera, cause mine were flawless. The camera does not perform all that well in low light but then again, I bought it for during the day shots so not that big a deal right now. In either event, I highly recommend the camera, if you want to take great pictures and look cool at the same time, this is the camera for you!

The Sony DSC-T900 is based around a 1/2.3" SuperHAD CCD image sensor with 12.1 megapixel resolution coupled to a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar branded 4x optical zoom lens. The Sony T900 offers equivalent focal lengths that range from a 35mm wide angle to a 140mm telephoto, while the maximum aperture varies from f/3.5 to f/4.6 across the zoom range. Macro focusing is possible down to a minimum of one centimeter in what Sony dubs "magnifying glass" mode.. The T900 forgoes any optical viewfinder in favor of a 3.5" touch-panel wide-aspect LCD display with an extremely high 921,000 dot resolution.
The Sony Cyber-Shot T900 offers ISO sensitivity ranging from 80 to 3,200 equivalent and includes both true mechanical image stabilization, as well as Digital Image Stabilization which functions by raising the camera's sensitivity (and along with it, the noise levels) so as to achieve a higher shutter speed and reduce motion blurring. The Sony T900 also offers face detection capable of differentiating between children and adults, recognizing and prioritizing one specific individual's face whenever they're present in a scene and detecting when your subject blinks during an exposure. The T900 takes into account the locations of detected faces when calculating autoexposure and autofocus variables. There's even a dedicated "Smile Shutter" button which triggers the T900 to capture a photo upon detecting that the subject is smiling.
The Sony Cyber-Shot T900 features in-camera retouching capabilities, with soft focus, fish eye effect, cross filter, partial color, retro, radiation, red-eye correction, trimming, unsharp masking and smile effects on offer.
