Great Purchase
very well composed & sturdy, in my opinion, a must have for anyone who has L-Mount batteries and is in the field with their MixPre.

Good but flawed
The battery sled works and provides redundant battery source but over time, the place where this plastic sled just snaps into place will wear down and will become loose or the sled will just fall off. I know this is aimed below the pro market, but it'd be nice to have some sort of locking mechanism or latch on the MixPre to keep this secure. Maybe in the V2 Mixpre

The Sound Devices MX-L for Mixpre series
Well not very complicated, its a plastic adapter that allows you to use Sony L batteries to power the SD Mixpre 3, 6, and 10t. I hear everyone comment that the plastic isn't durable, well not sure what you're doing with your recorder, but mine just sits in a highly protective bag so far it does everything it was designed to do. Mount to the back and hold two sony type batteries and power the mixpre...a job it does as well as could be expected. Only criticism is that it makes batteries orient vertically, so looking at the front it makes the back of the unit much taller which can be awkward for bags, but then you can just use lower profile sony batts if that's a problem.

Does the job
I wish this felt a little sturdier, but it does the job well and fits snugly to my MixPre 6. Nice to have the option to use the Sony batteries!
