Punches above it's price class
love this lens so far. suits my style. I find the semi macro feature most useful. I love to take food pics and it works very well for that. It is sharp with a pleasing background blur wide open. not the fastest to focus but who uses 35mm for action? resolution holds up well with the 42mp A7R3. will probably go for the 20mm when it is available. would love to see a 50mm f1.8 or f2 in this series. I have never been a fan of the FE 50mmf1.8.
A Real Gem
This lens delivers excellent across the frame sharpness even from wide open at f/2.8. It is a little chunky, but is light and balances well on the camera. AF is a little slow, probably a trade off in order to have 1:2 macro capability. Very happy with this lens as the image quality it produced punches well above its price point.
