I just started using it. So far so good. I take pictures of orchids and I think it will work out well.

Best bang for your buck lens there is. Brutally sharp with great contrast and color reproduction. The bokeh is wonderful and the macro capabilities are stellar. AF is where you get an issue. Left to it?s own devices, it?s terrible. But, here?s the beautiful part: turn on AF-C mode or DMF on your Sony camera, and hover the shutter button (hold down halfway) and it will force it to react fast and you won?t lose focus. Tested it over 2500 pictures in a weekend and lost focus on maybe 400. With that knowledge, buy it. It?s great and you won?t regret it!

For the price it has been one of my go to lenses. Yes focus is a little slow but it is right up there with the Zeiss 35mm.

A great budget lens for group portraits. The 2.8 aperture is just enough to blur out the background nicely.

The lens is very sharp., the problem is the lens is hard to get on the camera and you have to force it to get it off. A real bummer for the Sony camera. I have purchased 2 of the lens, neeither fit the camera it was made for. I am disappointed!

This lens delivers excellent across the frame sharpness even from wide open at f/2.8. It is a little chunky, but is light and balances well on the camera. AF is a little slow, probably a trade off in order to have 1:2 macro capability. Very happy with this lens as the image quality it produced punches well above its price point.

love this lens so far. suits my style. I find the semi macro feature most useful. I love to take food pics and it works very well for that. It is sharp with a pleasing background blur wide open. not the fastest to focus but who uses 35mm for action? resolution holds up well with the 42mp A7R3. will probably go for the 20mm when it is available. would love to see a 50mm f1.8 or f2 in this series. I have never been a fan of the FE 50mmf1.8.
