Excellent Craftsmanship just like the lenses.

The typical problem I have run into ran into is that most converters are clearly a bit short to accommodate infinity focusing. The problem this creates is that it throw. The depth of field scale off on the lens. A 7ft mark on the ring may actually 13 ft for example. My solution was the Voigtlander VM-E close focus ii adapter. To calibrate the lens focus distance markings, I measure the actual distance to the point of focus (e.g., 2m). I then set the lens focus ring to exactly 2m. Finally, I dial in the focus by turning the close focus adapter ring, moving the lens slightly further from the sensor, until the image is sharp. Now, the lens distance scale is calibrated for accurate DOF readings when zone focusing. If I need to infinity focus I simply dial the ring back down to the closest position to the lens. I assume this technique can be used on all items with a close focus adjustment. The added bonus is the beautiful macro shots I get when fully extending the close focus ring. And the Voigtlander, while expensive, is a good tight fit with zero play, no perceived light leaks when tested and a fluid close focus ring. If you justify spending the extra cost for a well engineered adapter which can solve the problems I discussed, do it. Remember, the is the revised II model and not the original. You can tell by the fully knurled ring and the Roman numeral ii on the lens.

Smaller, lighter, more aluminum than the original, better handling and accuracy then VM/E close up adapter type I.

Sony E-mount with built in helicoid which extends the range of focus from the closest shooting distance of Voigtlander VM lenses to infinity.

An adapter is required to attach a lens with different mount specifications to a mirrorless interchangeable lens digital camera.

We have released adapters for mounting our Voigtlander VM lenses on various mount bodies, and they have been well received for its high-precision quality.

Now, we have released the VM-E Close Focus Adapter Type II.

Many VM mounted rangefinder camera lenses are more compact than single-lens reflex lenses, and also the distance from the lens mount to the image sensor is close to that of mirrorless cameras, making it a good match for adaptation.

On the other hand, interchangeable lenses for rangefinder cameras often have a minimum shooting distance of only 70cm.

Even when attached to a mirrorless camera via a mount adapter, the shortest shooting distance remains constant. For this reason, we were unable to meet the wishes of users who wanted to take in-focus pictures closer to the subject.

The VM-E Close Focus Adapter Type II is equipped with an extended helicoid allowing you to shoot "closer" than the nominal shooting distance of the attached lens. It has made it possible to focus even closer!

In addition, by utilizing more aluminum, we have achieved a weight reduction of 74g making it even more portable, while ensuring durability and accuracy.

By the use of a special blade in manufacturing, the operation ring is knurled with a beautiful diamond pattern. It is easy to grip in any position. The high-precision helicoid and high-quality lubrication combine to achieve delicate and smooth focusing. In addition, the operation ring has a convenient infinity-lock mechanism.
