Great flash unit for the money. I always shoot flash in manual, consequently I don?t need an expensive flash unit with all the ?bells and whistles?. The instructions are a little vague, other then that it is a nice on camera flash unit.

This is my second one of these I have owned (the first one took a rough tumble), I love this flash and it works like a champ. Can't compare it to the name brand ones as I've never owned any, but for my needs, it's never let me down.

The Yongnuo lll is a workhorse for those who need "Manual' type speedlights. They are easy to set, and work well in the field. Very pleased with this particular model.

I have been using Yongnuo speedlights for a couple of years now, and am really impressed with them. I use them primarily for out-of-studio work. One of my favorite features is that you can program how long they wait until they sleep. I do a lot of pet photography, and I don't have a lot of control over how long it takes to get my "models" ready. Many other speedlights go to sleep or auto-shutoff before I'm ready to shoot, but not the Yongnuo. The power settings are easy to use and give you a lot of control over the light output.

If you are just beginning in photography, a pro that needs a good quality back-up, or love to work in manual and are looking for something to experiment with, check out this flash from Yongnuo! The YN560-III Manual Speedlite flash is a highly flexible tool if you need a compact or portable studio setup with integrated 2.4GHz flash triggering. This flash is specially designed for photographers who don't need automatic exposure control and is a favorite of those shooting with radio triggers. A built-in PC sync port further enhances the flash's connectivity and its' Multi mode allows for stroboscopic lighting effects. The combination of power, recycling speed, handling, and ease of use makes the YN560-III the perfect manual flash!
Yongnuo continues its trend of excellent build quality as well as keeping controls clean and convenient by placing all of the essential functions at the top level of the flash. Easier than competing brands, the YN560-III features buttons rather than a dial with a soft push power button instead of a mechanical switch. Simply press the MODE button to switch between modes leaving any need to ulitlize the menu for custom functions. Adding to its ease of use, the battery door mechanism is spring loaded so the door pops open and stays put!
The true prowess of the Yongnuo YN560-III is its ability to operate as a wireless 2.4GHz remote in one of six individual groups with a versatile zoom range of 24-105mm. The built-in RF-603 wireless trigger makes it alot easier to create a light setup for both studio as well as on-location shooting. For even more power, the YN560-III features super-charging speed and includes an external power socket.
Considering the extremely low cost of the YN560-III combined with good build quality, great power output, and wireless control, this flash saves you time and money, leaving more space in your camera bag for other equipment.
