The product arrived on time and was well packaged. The extra goodies as part of the bundle were also very nice, especially the UV and CPL filters. The lens itself is top notch, in terms of build quality, no complaints at all. I?ve shot a ton of bird photos so far. So I can say that AF is about as good as it gets for the Fuji X system. There will be times that the AF misses or hunts a little. But not to a level that has caused me any frustrations. The OIS is fantastic! I?ve mainly been using this lens handheld without any worries, primarily photographing birds. However, for landscape shots, I mount the lens to a tripod with an addition of an extended Arca-Swiss QR plate. The included tripod collar?s base is just a little to short. So for extra stability, I?d recommend an extended plate. I was a little worried about the heft of this lines, since I knew that I?d be hiking with it a lot. But surprisingly, the weight has not bothered me at all.

The Fujifilm XF 100-400mm Water-Resistant Lens is the best wildlife lens in terms of both zoom and aperture. With an F4.5-5.6 the lens performs beautifully in high light as well as lower light levels and paired with and XF 2X TC the zoom is unprecedented. Along with Hoya filters and included lens hood I have yet to find a wildlife subject that couldn’t be photographed with extreme clarity.

I rented this lens before buying, and took it on a birding trip. Worked great on the Fuji X-T4. Autofocus was on target. It also pairs well with the 1.4x teleconverter. After the rental I pulled the trigger and bought it. This lens plus the 18-80mm F4 has 90% of my focal length needs covered.

A great telephoto zoom for serious hobbyist photographers. I bought this lens on sale for $ 1400.00, I would not pay the regular $ 1900. The lens isn't built well enough for that price. The rotating lens collar and tripod foot are not as strong as they should be, the main barrel that extends as you zoom is polycarbonate not metal, the lens hood is also plastic. I am happy with this lens from my hobbyist perspective, but this is not a professional lens.

This is a great lens for capturing birds in flight especially when paired with the Fuji X-H1 image stabilization. Excellent reach and still light enough for hand held shots. My only complaint is that the lens is too big to fit in my sling bag even off the camera. Images are crisp and the colors are great as you expect with Fuji. This is the most expensive piece of my kit and worth every penny.

I was somewhat skeptical about this lens having read reviews saying it isn't sharp enough. I haven't used it enough to make any claims on the lens sharpness but so far I'm pleased with it. I'm amazed at how well the stabilization works. I've included a picture of the moon which is unedited except for cropping and downsizing for easy web use. The picture was taken at 400mm, ISO640, SS250, f9 and was hand held.

I bought this lens along with the 1.4 TC for wildlife photography and I have been very pleased with the photos so far. The image stabilization is excellent and the size/weight makes it very manageable for handheld use with my XT-3.

So far I love this lens! Very easy to use, images are very sharp and the lens feels like a high end piece of equipment. I'm very happy with it. I would certainly recommend this lens for fuji X line users who are into shooting wildife, sports, etc.

Kudos to FujiFilm for their development of a fabulous lens. Sharp...great colors...coupled with an ability to optimize bokeh in challenging conditions. Recently acquired so I am still tweaking and learning how to take advantage of its auto-focus and manual focus capabilities.

What I like most about this lens is a combination of optical stabilization and quite handy zoom range for wildlife pictures. Main cons for me are the large size and weight, leading to often leaving lens home. But when I take it with me for a photoshoot - results are always very satisfying - sharpness is excellent and focus is reasonably quick with X-T2 camera.
