Questions & Answers

SETH C : Is there any advantage to the 5 blade vs 14 blade aperture?ROBERT J : The autofocus version of the lens has a 5 blade aperture while the manual version has a 14 blade aperture. The 5 blade aperture can produce a prominent10 point star with hexagon shaped bokeh balls while the 14 blade aperture can produce a softer smaller 14 point star with round bokeh balls. I bought the autofocus version. I rarely shoot sunstars, but I often shoot close up and autofocus is convenient. I'm fine with the 5 blade sunstars and bokeh. What's important to others may be different.JAMES M : The 5-blade aperture variant produces distinct 10-point sunstar effects, while the 14-blade counterpart creates 14-point sunstars.
JOHN M : Does this lens have a gasket?GREG B : Yes, it has a rear mount gasket.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?TIMOTHY G : Needed a wide angle lensROBERT J : I bought this lens for use with my full frame Nikon Z mirrorless camera. I like the dramatic perspective that an ultra wide lens such as this can provide. I also like that this is rectilinear rather than a fisheye; that this mount had an autofocus version; and that it accepted standard 77mm filters.RUSSELL P : i need it for my work this week.GARY P : It looks like a very interesting lens that I can add to my kit. Will likely make great waterfall images!Shaun V : Needed itWilliam S : It looks like a fun lens for the Z system.

WIDE and SHARP!

I bought the 5 blade version and it is awesome! WIDE and CLOSE focusing. I can rest the VERY small lens shade on a surface and photograph everything from 1/4 inch away to infinity. I HAVE to get close to anything smaller than a building to get it any reasonable size in the frame. ONLY drawback is NO electronics. If/when Canon releases interface specs, I will buy THAT version too! Fun lens and still learning!
