It produces classic anamorphic characteristics such as elliptical bokeh and signature flares in blue, amber, and silver options, adding a unique touch to your cinematic production.This lens is designed with a minimum focusing distance of 55cm, enabling close-up shots and adding versatility to your storytelling. The lens's large aperture, ranging from T2 to T22, allows for filming in diverse light conditions and creates a stunning shallow depth of field.The Laowa Proteus 45mm T2 lens is a result of two years of collaboration with cinematographers, combining state-of-the-art technology with classic anamorphic features to deliver remarkable image quality. Regardless of the resolution or aspect ratio, this lens is designed to support any cinematic production.The patented front anamorphic design of the Laowa Proteus 2X Anamorphic Series ensures robust optical composition. It delivers modern image sharpness while retaining the vintage look of anamorphic characteristics, including elliptical bokeh and signature flares.The lens is delicately designed with a constant 2X squeeze ratio, ideal for cinema use. It works seamlessly with 4:3 or 6:5 sensors, typically found in professional cinema cameras, delivering a 2.66:1 or 2.4:1 image after de-squeeze. This allows filmmakers to use the footage entirely or crop to a 2.39:1 with minimal loss of resolution.The optical performance of the Proteus Series is fine-tuned to deliver excellent color rendition and contrast. Even when shooting wide open, the lens reproduces high image quality and sharpness, with well-controlled chromatic aberration.The Proteus Series lenses come with classic sci-fi blue, warm and elegant amber, and neutral silver flare color options, allowing cinematographers to choose the right flare color to set the tone for their film.
