Concerned about Charleroi. What kind of CLAMPS were you using to hold your seeing eye thingie on your shooter thingie. Perhaps a nice set of Pro Rings might be a better option. When you get into Air Gun Competition, and your Scope is mounted tight, be sure to put the X thingie on the very center circle. This will greatly increase your chances of becoming a Schniper!!

Great clarity, I love the reticle and eye relief. I've owned a number of different brands of rifle scopes and non are as nice as this especially for a price.

I won a 334 Stevens walnut rifle. I installed a 3x9-40 Crossfire ll. It zeroed on target right away with no problems. Plus the 334 Steven shot great ,I was very surprised of the rifle.

Recently purchased my first Vortex riflescope, a 3-9x40 Diamondback and mounted it on a CVA Accura .50 caliber muzzleloader. I am impressed with how bright and clear this scope is compared to other higher dollar scopes that I own. This will not be my last Vortex purchase as this is all that most hunters need. On my first outing with this scope, I had an accident with my muzzleloader, dropping the rifle on concrete and bending the scope tube. I called Vortex and they sent a pre-paid shipping label and thoroughly checked out my scope. It was terminal and they sent me a brand new one. Excellent warranty, even though I caused the damage. First class in my book, optics and service!!!

I have never got on with rifle scopes but the crossfire bundled with my rifle leading up to deer season had crystal clear glass and made taking my first deer nice and easy. BZ, vortex. Keep it up

I fell in love with Vortex after buying my first one. I now own at least 8 of them. Personally, I like the Crossfire II better than the Diamondback, but that's just me. I also own one of their binoculars. I have had to use their warranty two times over the past 8-10 years and all was handled very quickly and with no questions asked. One time a lens came loose in the binocs and one time a tube was bent on a Crossfire II, both times the warranty folks did a very quick turn around for me. I used to be an "L" guy, but now I am a Vortex guy. Great quality at a very fair price!

Got this scope as a package deal with 300 win mag. Was not happy with the 3x9 so I bought the dimondback tactical 6x24 . I have 4 vortex scopes and would not part with a one.

I put one of these on my 270 and absolutely loved it so I went and got another one for my 308. In my opinion this is the best scope you can get for the money. Very clear and bright in low light. I 100% recommend

The Diamondback is a very nice scope, but the short eye relief makes it unsuitable for heavy recoiling rifles or even light weight medium recoiling rifles like the Tikka. I had to take mine off a Tikka Lite 7mm-08 and put it on something else, and the 7-08 is not a heavy recoil - just a very light weight rifle. Consider this to avoid getting "scoped." It seems the eye relief listed for this scope is for its lowest magnification. Eye relief shortens at higher magnification. Other manufacturers list the eye relief for both the lowest and highest settings. A little searching reveals that the vortex is known for short eye relief. I had to push mine forward to the point that I didn't have a full field of view in the scope. Otherwise, I like the scope. Very clear and seems solid. Great warranty.

I love vortex scopes and they have great value for what you get. But and for me this is a big downside to the crossfire line, is that the turits are very mushy, they don't really have much is any sound when adjusting. It is also hard to know if you've moves it 1 or 2 click because there is no firm click or set when you do adjust the turit. As far as i know this is only an issue with the crossfire line but if they were able to fix this. this product would be hands down one of the best.

Bought this product based on reports of good glass quality and general good build quality for the pricepoint. Made my purchase online without looking at the scope in a store because of the good online reviews, this was obviosly a mistake. What i did not expect was the horrible eyerelief/eyebox. Had to buy cantilever mounts and even with these mounts and the scope mounted as far back as possible there are still problems with poor eyereliefe/eyebox wich makes for an akward shooting position. I suggest that if you are interested in this product, look at it in a store before buying to make sure it fits your rifle. The upside of the scope is that the glass are clear for the money but this does not make up for the eyerelief/eyebox.

Honestly not the absolute best! But I can say in its class it wins. No more cheap Walmart scopes. Ya don?t need them when you get this quality. I?ve mounted them on everything from a 22 to a 300 win mag. I have 11 total and only broke one. from my own mounting mistakes that is. There are better scopes with vortex but if you want the brand for cheap get this puppy!!! If ya have problems call vortex. They have the best customer support. Trust me I?ve used it. I payed for every scope with my own money and can?t wait to try there other products. Hope this helps someone.

I purchased this Crossfire II 3-9x40 V-plex two days ago, mounted and bore sighted it on my late grandfather's .30-06 pump and went to the range this morning. Got it close at 25 yards, then fine tuned it at 100 yards. Crystal clear glass, sharp reticle (that you can focus) and consistent 1/4 MOA adjustments. When you consider the warranty and reputation of Vortex Optics, it is a no-brainer. Their headquarters are 40 miles from my house, so if the need to use their warranty ever arises (have never had an issue with any of the 4 or 5 Optics I own), they are just down the road. Probably the best part of the Crossfire II line is the generous eye relief.

Compared to my other scope in same price class, this one is great. but, after reading through all the manuals/researching through the website, i?m still clueless on one essential piece of information. the reticle subtension is based on full magnification. as i understand it, that means your hold overs with the hash marks are accurate only when you?re at full magnification?so, what if you prefer wider field of view to find/keep on your game? ie. less than full magnification? so far, i have found nothing. my other scope has an app that after entering my cartridge, will tell me my hold over for whatever magnification i?m at?or, i can print out a small field chart showing hold overs for all magnifications. as of right now, i?m stuck at full and that makes finding my deer at 200-250 yds slow.

I have this scope mounted on my Henry 45-70 rifle. If you don?t already know, a 45-70 round has a strong kick. Yet the optic performs every time I go to the range and when I am out in the field.

I have three of these on various rifles, 300wsm, 30,06 and 308 and they are rugged and have very, very clear glass. I also have two Vortex binos , one in 10x42 and the other in 8x32. Superior in every category...just so very well done for the price and the warranty you can't go wrong.

This scope has a very little eye relief and is hard to see out of at dusk. I would compare it to a cheap scope that comes with a combo deal. Not worth the money.

Finally time to review my Diamond 3-9x40. When I needed to replace an older scope, I called one of the big box stores looking for a specific scope. They said they had it so I drove up there (40 min each way) only to be told they were out of stock. Sales clerk showed me the Vortex at the same price, and I compared it to scopes in the next price tier. While I had never heard of Vortex, I liked what I saw and made the purchase. In the ensuing 12 years I have purchased more Vortex scopes and recommended them to several other hunters. All are pleased with the choices we've made.

This scope came on a Ruger 450 Bushmaster i bought. Its the best scope I?ve ever owned. i would highly recommend to anyone on buying this scope. It?s very clear at 100 yards even if it?s not very bright out. My next rifle i will be putting this scope on it!!

I was skeptical at first but you never know until you try. Glad I purchased this scope, it was inexpensive, quality built, accurate and only took a few shots before I was zeroed. Since then I've purchased 4 vortex scopes for a total of 5. Don't think I'll need to buy anything different. Only have 2 pictures to share at the moment. 3. 3-9x40 1. Red dot 1. 2-7x32

Love this scope and all its features. Mounted the 3-9x40 on a Ruger American 270 Win with a set of Vortex Pro Ring 1" Medium (0.95") (PR1-M) scope rings. First time I ever mounted my own scope. Installation was easy with the provided manual (loaded with great info). Bore sighted with a laser bore sight and took it to the range. Had it dialed in in no time. The glass is crystal clear and the fast focus eyepiece is a great feature that will be very handy deer hunting whether in the woods or over an open field. Zero reset is another great feature. Love this scope so much, I just bought the 4-12x40 to put on my Ruger M77 270 Win. Can't wait to get that out on the range and in the field. If you're looking for a solid scope with great features that won't break the bank, you can't go wrong with the Diamondback series of scopes from Vortex. Where else can you get a lifetime warranty on a scope in this price range? The only thing I have that other reviewers have is cracked lens caps and I replaced those with Blizzard caps anyway...

Put this scope on my Ruger 350 Legend and I could not be more happy with it. Being someone with bad eyes the red dot in the scope is a plus along with the clarity of the scope. You cannot and will not go wrong if you choose this item. Keep up the good work Vortex, as well as continuing to offer the best warranty in the optics market.

I bought a gun and scope package from a retailer and couldn't be happier with my choice. The Crossfire II 3x9x40 Scope gets the job done. The scope is clear and crisp and I really love the customer service with the brand. I will definitely purchase only Vortex from now on. IF you are in the market make sure to check them out for any setup. I believe the price and the quality is unmatched.

I mounted this on top of my new Savage Model 10 FCP HS 308WIN. I know a $149 scope on a $1300 rifle... but for the money it really works well. I won't be able to push the boundaries of this rifle with this scope but it will do for deer hunting now. Highly recommend Vortex Optics!

This is my third Vortex product. I run their 3x flip up magnifier on my AR, and this that came pre-installed on my Savage Axis II XP. On 3x, the first thing I noticed was just how minimal the scope shadow was, as in the ring of black that surrounds the image. The second thing I noticed was how perfect the glass quality was. Magnifier dial was tough to turn the first time I moved it, but after the first movement it had no issues and has an ideal amount of turn resistance. Focus dial has a little too much movement resistance, but not enough to be a negative. Eye relief is generous, I wouldn't be afraid to use this scope on a rifle with kick. Chromatic aberation does appear at higher magnification, but to be expected at this price point. It is not atrocious. The only thing that made me consider dropping this to a 4 star review was just how little feedback the turrets give when adjusting them. When adjusting, I had a hard time distinguishing how many clicks I have moved it. If I were a shooter that adjusted the reticle for windage, I would probably look for a scope with better feedback. The BDC reticle should mitigate the need to do that, however, and is a fantastic reticle.

Best rimfire scope
By ChivP
I’ve had the crossfire II on both my .22’s for just over a year and I could not recommend it more. It has been used and abused every single day in and out of the Ute, riding on the quad around the farm, and I’ve never had a single problem or lost zero. I could not recommend it more as a reliable and durable scope yet lightweight. Thanks
Small price, but doesn’t feel cheap
By BlkMKZ
Had this for over a year now and never had an issue. Never lost zero ever though I may have dropped it once or twice. Extremely well put together for the price range. You can’t lose with optic!
The Diamondback loaded with features! First, the solid one piece aircraft grade aluminum alloy construction makes the Diamondback riflescope virtually indestructible and highly resistant to magnum recoil. Argon purging puts waterproof and fogproof performance on the agenda, and advanced fully multi-coated optics raise an eyebrow when crystal clear, tack-sharp images appear in the crosshairs. Look for all this and more in a riflescope you'd expect to cost quite a bit more but doesn't. We can live with that.
Experience great hunting in dense cover!! Vortex knows good hunting gets all the better with high quality optics. For that reason, Vortex makes sure every glass surface of the Diamondback is fully multi-coated to transmit a full 91 percent of the light delivering the bright details you need when taking aim.
With a Diamondback riflescope on your firearm, you'll head out with complete confidence in the harshest of habitats. The Diamondback takes great strides against the abuse of repeated recoil with a rugged one piece main tube constructed of 6061 T6 aircraft-grade aluminum and sets high standards for waterproofing and fogproofing with argon gas purging.
Precision-Glide Erector System features premium grade fluoropolymer teflon resin bushings that provide exceptional resistance to stress cracking, temperature change, corrosion, and friction-induced wear. In addition, these bushings have an ultra-low coefficient of friction for the smoothest possible operation of the magnification adjustment.
