This tripod works very well for shooting and glassing off of. The adjustability of the legs and angles make it very versatile for different circumstances. Just wouldn't recommend packing it for miles as it is decently heavy and the radian head can be bulky in a pack.

Great overall stability. It's a bit too heavy for long arduous hikes in the western backcountry but it's got the stability to make that long shot across the ravine 800 yards if that's your thing.

Fast to set up, light weight, very sturdy. I clamped my 26 pound PRS rifle in it and it is rock solid. Can't wait to use it in the field.

There has never been a scenario where I would want another tripod. From range days to actively carrying it on a hunt. Despite it being a bit large, the extra size is crucial for a stable platform and having a comfortable shooting height. Everyone I've let try it has seen a noticeable improvement in supported shooting over their current solution. Don't be scared of the size. It's light and rock solid.

I recently added the Vortex Radian Carbon Tripod with both the Radian Ball Head and the Leveling Head to my gear, and I couldn't be more impressed. The interchangeability between the ball and leveling heads offers incredible versatility, making it perfect for both precision shooting and glassing. Whether I'm setting up for a shot or scanning the terrain, switching between the heads is quick and seamless, saving me valuable time in the field. The tripod's carbon fiber construction is light enough to carry on long hikes but remains rock solid, even in challenging conditions. The stability and fine adjustments that the ball and leveling heads provide have noticeably improved my accuracy, and that's crucial as I prepare to dive into long-range hunting and NRL Hunter competitions. The price on ExpertVoice was unbeatable, making this combo a fantastic investment for anyone serious about their shooting. In short, if you're looking for a reliable, adaptable tripod system that can enhance your shooting precision, the Vortex Radian Carbon Tripod with these heads is worth every penny.

Light weight and easily transported in luggage: I use this tripod primarily for doing nature and landscape photography, and for using my spotting scope. Too light for use in medium or gusty wind conditions, even with adding weight hung from the tripod head.

Smooth adjustments on the legs and the ball head. I especially like the fact that you can remove the ball head and use the wide top of the tripod as rear support with a bag on top.

Context: -I have owned the tripod for approximately 2 months. -I have shot ~250 rounds up to this point off the tripod so far. -I have spent ~10+ hours of dry-fire getting accustomed to the tripod. -I am using this tripod for the purpose of competition (NRL Hunter). -My full-up gun weighs about 13.75lbs. -I'm shooting 140grn 6.5 Creedmoor (will be important later). Pros: -Price -Platform stability (prior to taking a shot) -Modularity (your imagination is the limit of the positions you can build) -Maximum adjustable height (I'm 6'2) -Wide range of ball head movement in all directions. Great for lateral traversing and high angle shooting. Issues for consideration... not exactly con's (depending on how you plan to use this): -Ball head uses knob-locking adjustments that can be touchy and require a shooter more time to lock down (in comparison to a throw lever). There are are two separate knobs for the ball head adustment. One is the main fastener/unlocker, the other is for friction. The advantage of this is the shooter can better refine the "settings" on the ball head; however, both wheels are very sensitive and can take a long time to get used to adjusting. Keep in mind this is my opinion. If you don't care about how quickly you are getting on target and would rather take a little more time to ensure your reticle is EXACTLY where you want it, then this ball head actually works great for you based on the amount of inputs you can apply to it. -Platform stability immediately after taking a shot: the ball head has a tendency to point the gun upwards (due to recoil)(usually no more than 1.5 mils (4 1/2 MOA) after taking a shot. I am shooting 140grn 6.5 Creed, so this is surprising considering my recoil is already on the lower end. Keep in mind that the ball head will experience the forces of recoil sooner than your shoulder based on the direction the recoil travels, so applying a more positive load into the gun does not completely fix this issue. Increasing the friction knob tightness can reduce the amount that the muzzle rises, but will make the process of coming back down onto target more frustrating since you will need to play with the knob again immediately after firing. TLDR: This is a great tripod. The ball head can take some practice getting used to because it has multiple adjusting points. The ball head has a tendency to slightly move when shooting unless the knobs are mega cranked. Consider a throw lever head if you are training to a time standard. Otherwise, don't worry about it. :)

The tripod is very well made an is easy to configure and get set up. It is light weight but also feel sturdy and of a quality that leads me to believe it will last. I have shot off it several time both standing sitting and has made easy and more accurate. Definitely recommend

The tripod is easily adjustable, stable, and exactly what I expected from Vortex. The ball head is smooth but also locks firmly when needed. I think the only downside is it is a bit heavy, but that is the cost of any tripod this robust.

Stable and easy to use. Outstanding tripod for the price. However, if you are looking for a lightweight or quicker to deploy setup, this might not be the right choice(RRS is the way to go). However, for my needs, it's simply awesome(ELR, PRS with tripod being allowed to be deployed prior to stage start).

I use this for an AI-AT .308. Fully supports the gun using an arca rail mount. Easy adjustments for the legs, ball head, etc. Super quite when getting into position. Now the con. Finding the small arca rail closure during night ops, giant pain. Once you get the rail in, then trying to tightening it down, was painful. Granted, it was in complete darkness, but it's worth mentioning. I know I could buy a throw lever, but for the price, I suppose it should come standard. The finish could be matte. Most of the time, avoiding shiny objects is ideal. Maybe make it more acceptable to paint? Compared to some other tripods, bar-none, one of the best. Have recommend.

I got this tripod while training to go to Sniper School. Over the past year and a half, I have used it in the desert, mountains, woods, and some significant rain and snow. It was my tripod through school to include stalking and high angle shooting. It does weigh more than some other tripods out there, but the wider top and weight makes for a very sturdy platform. If you are trying to save weight, this is not It. If you want a tank of a tripod that can be relied on in any circumstance, then this is your best choice.
