There's nothing really special about this sight. It works, the dot is good and bright, and you can access the battery without having to remove the sight from your mount. It seems to hold up to recoil on my 20 gauge single shot with slugs just fine. The 6 moa dot doesn't work particularly well with my astigmatism, and the glass has a very noticeable blue tint. The tint is not distracting when shooting, but it's on the same level as my 8 year old $200 Vortex rangefinder. No auto shutoff is a bummer (a new battery will not last 2 months with the optic accidentally left on, as I found out last weekend). There are hardly any mounting options apart from the included picatinny mount, so it's restricted to mainly long guns or large pistols. There are many options on the market that would provide similar performance for much less than the Razor's MSRP. I can't complain about it too much though, as I got it for free.

I purchased this red dot used. The previous owner cracked the battery tray. Actully it was no big deal because it still functioned fine. I called Vortex and they sent me a new tray. That is the reason why I own 3 other Vortex scopes I purchased new. This red dot is nice. I have an astigmatism but the dot on the Razor is crystal clear and perfectly round. To be fair I am not a fan of the placement of the up and down arrows but that is a minor issue and that would not deter me from purchasing another one.

I own 6 of these on everything from my Dissident arms shotgun, all the way down to pistols. I prefer the razor glass over any other RDS on the market today. Half the price of Trijicon SRO but glass quality is twice as good!

Had to purchase from Eruo optics to get my military discount and get the red dot this year. Never been able to purchase anything from vortex and use my military discount and get product in a reasonable time. But now for the red dot. As other reviews have said, the dot is blurry on one of the two I purchased. That one won't turn down as much as the other. Also the brighter settings are way bright though. The biggest disappointment is the windage and elevation adjustments. For a razor I expected crisp clicks. That was totally not the case. Both sites were very mushy. I've had cheap scopes with better crisp clicks. You just can't really just count clicks like regular scope. Got them zeroed. Hope they keep it. Would like to have seen auto on / off at this price point. If you leave it on the battery only lasts for about 6 days on bright.

I have three of these sights on a G23, G27, and a G40. All three have held up well through over 300 rounds. I reduced the rating by one star to due the following factors. Having to lock the sight adjustment from the rear creates complications when using Co witnessing sights. When using for personal protection carry having to be sure to turn the sight back on after 6 hours could result in a high pucker factor at the worst possible moment. I'd rather replace the battery more often than have to worry about the sight shutting itself off when my life depends on that little red dot. My best guess this is done because this unit may have been originally designed to be used as a competition sight and not as a personal protection/woods gun sight. It has some striking similarities to another manufacturers competition unit. Feel free to remove the auto off feature and add Auto on. I really like that it's NOT made in China, thank you, I'll gladly pay more.

I bought this for a self-defense pistol. However, I was unaware it shuts off automatically after 6 hours (I don't see it anywhere on the website, but does appear in the manual, not great for a self-defense weapon. I wish I had known or I would have bought another Leupold Deltapoint Pro (I have 2 and they are motion-activated), SIG Romeo (have 4 various models and all of those are motion-activated) or a Vortex Venom (does not turn off in manual mode). Otherwise a great red dot with wide screen and clear glass, but more geared towards range or competition use than self-defense. And just to be clear, I am a huge Vortex fan. Best customer support and warranty in the business. I've done the Vortex Extreme Challenge, and the company rocks. I have 11 other Vortex optics (Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27x, 2 Razor AMGs, Viper PST 5-25x and 3-18x Gen II's, Viper PST 1-4x, Strike Eagle 1-6x, Crossfire Scout, Spitfire AR, SPARC AR and Viper bino's) and I love them all, just not the Razor red dot. It is great, but wish I had known it was not for carry or home self defense.

This optic fitment and easy target acquisition provides, paired with the RT45 offset mount, is perfect. No searching for the reticle or adjusting your head. A quick tilt and you're on target. I have this in conjunction with the SpitFire 3X prism scope on my AR.

This is a Precision sight. The adjustments are easy and the unit holds zero well. The dot is clear and has a good range of adjustments.

Had one for a few years now. Been through a few thousand rounds. Hasn’t been through hard use, just competitions and range fun. It’s pretty great for that! Only complaint is battery life, could be longer

Like the sight picture on the Razor. Started with the Picanny rail on the Ruger Mk4 Hunter and the Picanny base that came with the Razor. Was able to replace both of these components with a much lighter base made by MADDMACS PRECISION TACTICAL, it also LOOKS way Cool.

I picked this reflex sight up from a friend of mine who had it available and who wasn’t using it. At first I wanted it to put on a pistol but it found its permanent home on my 5.56/223 Msar bullpup rifle. It is small and light and just felt right on the rifle. I am quite happy with it and would recommend it as an excellent sight to any who ask.

The Razor is extremely easy to operate. The brightness of the dot is easily changed by using either the up or down arrow depending on what the situation is. The battery can be changed quickly and without removing the optic. Did I mention the clarity of the glass? It’s superior to any I’ve tried so far.

Great optic for a fair price. Have one on a shotgun and another on a rifle. Never had any issues. Plus, you can’t beat the Vortex warranty

I have had mine for about two years now. The entire time I’ve had it it has been on my Beretta 1301 tactical 12 gauge. Target loads, buck, slugs, it has handled the recoil and kept zero. It works well and I’m happy with it.

I have 2 of these. One on my Dissident Arms KS-12 and one in my AK47. I shoot competitively and am constantly beating on my optics. In and out of dump barrels, bags, etc., these optics can take the abuse. Definitely my do to red dot. A+

Bought this for the offset for on my 3 gun rifle to replace a venom I previously has in there. the glass is so much bigger and the dot a lot more crisp then the other dots. Plus the buttons on top make it easier to turn on then the venom

I have the Razor red dot on a variety of guns and couldn't be more pleased. I have run them in steel matches on my Q5 match, sub guns, and I always have on on a Vortex 45 degree mount for my ARs. This red dot has never let me down. For the price, the quality you would expect is far exceeded with this product. Couple that with Vortex's lifetime warranty/customer service and you'll never have to worry. Great product!

Owned a Razor for 3 years now and keep it mainly on my Vepr 12. Nice big window and has held up well on a shotgun. A little big compared to the other miniaturized optics from Vortex or something like an RMR, so might not be the best choice for a handgun.

I've this optic for just over 6 months now. I put it on my .300BLK SBR and love it. It holds zero perfectly, even after swapping it to another rifle. It is incredibly durable despite the thin profile. The field of view is fantastic. I have no issues shooting with both eyes open and still maintaining awareness of my surroundings. The thin profile makes picking up the dot and projecting it over the target a breeze. The optic and mount are so light, the additional weight is nearly unnoticeable. I loved it so much, I bought an additional one for a relative for his full auto SMG. It his outperformed all expectations. Thank you, Vortex for an amazing product.

I went to my local vortex dealer and asked what he would recommend for a red dot on a ruger super blackhawk in .44 mag this is what he recommended and I can say I'm not disappointed one bit great red dot for it handles the recoil with no problem which I can say was the problem with a few other brand name ones and accurate
