Questions & Answers

Shopper : Will these work on a D200 or a D3300?ROBERT B : These should work on almost any Nikon that buses the standard lens mount. I have used these on aD50 D60x & D5200 and have loaned them to others with no reports of an inability to perform. I have found that when using on a zoom lens you have to first zoom the lens to the length that gives an approximate focus in order to get the auto-focus to work reliably.RANDALL M : Yes, all Nikon dslr cameras have the same lens mount. I use them on my D5000 and they work great.REJON S : I believe so. Both those cameras use the Nikon F mount which these tubes are sized for. They work great on my D7000.CAROLYN B : These should work on any Nikon DSLR camera, I have a D-90 Nikon and they work just fine. Hope this helps ya
Shopper : Will they work in a d3200?GARRETT E : Your camera should be among those on the list that they have tested with the system on the gopano website. They have an online tool that notes which spacers and close focus filters you need for lots of cameras and lenses. If not for your specific camera just use any of the DX sensor bodies and the lenses you have.
Shopper : Will these work for a D800?SAMRAT B : I had used it on D700 and it worked fine. However autofocus might be an issue. I used manual focus.MARK D : They should since the are Nikon "F" mount. They work well on my D7100EUL KYU L : Yes . I used this Vivitar 3 set Extension for Nikon D800e Working Good.STEVEN M : They are supposed to work with Nikon digital lenses, but I haven't used this set as of yet. Looking at the newer reviews of this product on Amazon, some users have had serious issues with this product.RON M : Don't know about D800, but certainly work well on D7000.GRHOOK P : The mounts on Nikon cameras are consistent; that's why all lenses work on all cameras (excepting motors, but that's not relevant here). These work on a D5100 and allow the camera to control aperture, which is really all you need. Past that you'll be using manual focus; AF and macro work really don't mix. I am very happy with these tubes and they should be successful on a D800. I will add that I did some research before I bought these, and there were some complaints about a snug fit. I was _very_ careful the first time I tried putting on one the body: no forcing, just firm pressure when twisting. They do all fit quite well, and are very secure between the body and lens (usually a 105mm f/2.8 MICRO). Just pay attention and be careful your first time out.REJON S : I believe so. I use them on a D7000 which I believe has the same mount.CURTIS L : I use them on my D800 all the time.DR. C : I assume so, they do work on a D7100. So long as you order these for Nikon, then - if you get sent the correct set, they come with standard Nikon mounts. This set proved quite useful - I could get quite close-up (for flower photos) even with the smaller fittings and a standard zoom lens. The extension tubes are an underestimated accessory (perhaps because they appear relatively cheap) and they are definitely worth their camera bag space. When I first received them they were just a bit difficult to get the hang of separating and attaching/removing, but they loosen up sufficiently with practice. If you have never used an extension set before, then I recommend them highly. There is no lens in them to change an aperture setting - they simply change the focal length. Nothing to go wrong, just a neat, simple bit of physics.JOSEPH P : Yes. A simple answer but reflecting the intended design of this product.

gets you in there

the feel is slightly "plastic" - but they definitely get me in close (2:1 with a Nikon 60mm macro) and since there is no glass, there is no image quality loss.

Snug but effective

These work just fine on Nikon cameras. It takes some experimenting to see how they work with a given lens, and they are especially effective with a macro lens (I use the 105 f/2.8). The fit is snug, so you want to be careful. They transfer aperture info to the body, but don't expect AF to work. Tubes mean manual focusing.

Nice substitute to dedicated macro lens

The product is well built. However, I faced the following problem: 1) The autofocus does not seem to work except the smallest tube (probably 12 mm). 2) Once the tubes are mounted, the manual focus ring becomes stiff. Makes a weired sound while performing manual focus. However, I have been able to get some nice pics. Overall, good product if you are mostly shooting indoors.

Works great

Works just as described, retains functionality of my D5200. Only caveat would be that the lengths weren't quite the same as in the description (13mm 21mm & 31mm). Delivered items are 12mm 20mm 36mm.

Good macro tubes

I liked the construction. However, the fit was tight. I had trouble with the autofocus as well as manual focus...

Does the Job well!

I've been a user of extension tubes for over 30 years, and they are great for those ultra close ups. Why extension tubes? The can be used with nearly any lens, and add no extra glass to the mix, thereby providing a pure experience when working with small subjects. These Vivitar extension tubes are inexpensive, easy to carry, versatile, and above all actually work. With the set of three, you can easily control the amount of magnification. My only recommendations would be to also purchase an additional rear lens cap as well as a camera body cap to keep the extension tubes sealed from dust and the elements when transporting your gear. The quality is good, they did not feel cheap at all, and they do exactly what they are supposed to do - provide you with a way to get great macro shots with no muss. To make things easier when using these tubes (or other macro gear) you should also consider a 2 or 4 way focusing rail, as it makes the process of obtaining great macro photography that much easier.

As described. Solid and works well.

The Vivitar Macro Extension Tube Set contains three tubes of different lengths, a 13 mm, 21 mm and 31 mm, which can be used individually or in any combination to obtain the magnification desired. These extension tubes are designed with all the circuitry and mechanical coupling to maintain auto focus and TTL auto exposure.
