These deep umbrellas setup instantly without additional speedrings or mounts. This framework allows for quick mounting of most strobes, constant lights, or speedlites. These lights become focusable within the Apollo Deep Umbrella. Lights can be adjusted as near or as far from the back of the modifier as desired, giving photographers complete control over light fall.  Designed to have a deeper profile than the original Apollo Orb, Deep Umbrellas features 16 durable fiberglass ribs that create a truly round shape. With this deep round design, this modifier creates a vast and directed throw of light. Light within this umbrella is evenly projected forward with maximized output.

The quality of light output and the size are fantastic. However, I'm only giving this 3 stars because mine just broke on a shoot when it fell over on grass. Of course umbrellas should be weighed down or possibly held, but this was the first time it fell, and on soft grass yet the rod snapped clean off the umbrella rendering it useless for the rest of the shoot. Had the rod been made of a sturdier material this may have withstood more than one fall. There are cheaper options from other brands that are just as good. I bought this because of Westcotts reputation for professional quality but $150 for a delicate umbrella is quite ridiculous.

Great light quality but flimsy rod broke

Good quality deep umbrellas that provides great quality soft light.  The constructive is solid.  The only drawback is that the carry bag is not the greatest quality.

Sturdy Deep Unbrella provdies excellent soft light

I am using this with a Westcott Diffusion Panel for 43" Deep Umbrella, Neutral White and could not be happier this the results. As a traveling portrait photographer, this combination for weight and ease of assembly is awesome. Thanks Westcott for keeping umbrella softboxes available.
