Love it hate it
I have mixed reviews about this product. On the one hand, it?s an excellent multi purpose modifier which is versatile and easy to set up. That being said, it?s a real pain trying to break it down for packing. There are no instructions on how to break it down. There?s no release latch and if you put too much force you can bend or break the rods. There you have it

A great modifier
This Rapid Box provides great light, as you would expect from a 48" octi. Goes up like a dream. Disassembly is equally easy, once you know what to look for. The shaft doesn't lock like a regular umbrella. Instead, two rings lock against one another. I think you are supposed to give one a 1/4 turn, but I didn't and had no problems. Using a small screwdriver, you insert the tool between the two rings, twist slightly and they separate very easily. Then it folds like any umbrella. I was getting very frustrated when trying to close until I realized how the mechanism works. Then, no problems.

Great Soft box
I purchased this soft box after watching many videos of other photographers. I've already gotten great results out of the soft box and the explore 600 flash. My only concern was the mounting bracket that connects to the flash unit came lose and fell off. Adorama was more than willing to exchange it.

Easy to setup and transport
Great for your portable studio, do so much more now away from my studio and these are great, the Westcott Rapid line are very good for speed of setting up and to transport. Easy umbrella design, even the strip boxes they offer. (I wish they were a little bigger , the strip boxes). I'm now using these with the Flashpoint XPLOR 600 HSS system. Your studio on the go and now using this in my studio. Battery powered High Speed sync strobes. You won't be disappointed with these, they are made well and will last a long time with normal use.

Rear-Mounted Lights

Care Instruction
Gently spot clean diffusion panels by hand with a non-bleach laundry detergent. Softboxes are unable to be cleaned. Applying cleaner to a reflective surface may damage the product. Switch Insert: Wipe with dry cloth
