great and poor at the same time!

The product was well beyond expectations and I couldn't be happier. The person (I can't really say he was a gentleman) really needs to get another job...preferably one that doesn't require contact with people.

Replacement of flash unit for My Cannon

Was Very pleased with the Yongnuo YN500EX Flash. My internal flash stopped charging and it was time to replace the camera. Did some checking and the cannon external flash compared the the YN500EX ,well they look like twins, but the cost was far less for the YN500EX and matches up perfectly. Would recommend this as alternative to the cannon product and save your Money.My Cannon camera still has life.

Great speedlight

This was my first speedlight and as a beginner/hobbyist I like the simplicity, ease of use as well as the scale ability of this this speedlight. Once I get more proficient with the use of flash, the YN500 would allow the ability to have various group setup capabilities as well as allowing me to use my Miops NT since it has a PC sync port. I would recommend this product for those looking for their first speedlight.

Whether you're a beginner who's still learning the technicalities of photography or if you're a pro who needs more versatility in a flash unit, this speedlight can give you what you need. The Yongnuo YN500EX Speed Light is part of a brand new range of speedlights which supports high-speed SYNC flash, TTL functions and a remote wireless trigger.

Take advantage of full bounce and swivel capabilities with the unit's -7 to 90-degree tilt and 270-degree rotation, not to mention a locking flash head. This flash can be optically triggered as well as triggered off-camera as a slave flash, with a built-in PC sync port. It's also capable of strobe flash, thanks to Multi mode. This flash runs on four AA batteries, has an approximate recycle time of three seconds, and includes a protective travel case and tabletop stand.
