Bought this as a replacement on a Z-finder. I used to velcro the cap to side of the Z-finder body to keep it safe and out of the way...not dangling around on its cord. Worked fine, but a nuisance. This auto-closing eye cup is great; no cap to worry about, and you can open it with the side of your face. The auto-close feature guarantees that the sun won't damage your lcd screen. Easy install too.

Love the hands-free design

This is a great replacement eyecup. It solves a couple of issues: one, you don't have to worry about what to do with your cover/cap (I used to velcro it to the side of my z-finder body) and; two, it auto closes (using magnet) to protect your screen from the sun. No, you can't use a chamois cover, but the rubber is so soft that it feels good, and the eyecup itself is washable.
