Tri X Pro is my favorite all purpose film of all time. It never lets you down. I use it in 4x5, 5x7 and 8x10. Please tell Kodak to begin make 50 sheet boxes available again in 8x10.

Wonderfully predictable and flexible film. Holds detail in the shadows and resists blow out in the highlights.

This is a great film for medium format cameras. The quality of the photos is great. Using a 4 x 5 view camera this film is fast and gives great tonal range. It is a bit pricey.

Tri-X is great for any b&w photography. It works well with almost any type developer, has great tonal range and almost no grain.

I´ve been using this film for 20 years. I´ve tried and tested others to compare but NONE come close to the tonal range that this film can provide in the craziest of lighting situations. It´s the Rolls Royce of B X W films!

With ISO 320, my camera can be set at higher speed. That help to reduce vibration. Images still look great when enlarging to 20 x 24 inches.

Our advanced black and white class deals with learning the intricacies of the 4x5 view camera, and for this class, we shoot 4x5 Tri-X. This is a serious, professional-level program, and we are expected to produce work on a professional level. There are newer emulsions available, but it's hard to find one that gives the beautiful look of properly-exposed Tri-X develpoed in full strength D76. It's absolutely gorgeous, and enlarges to huge dimensions without visible grain. One hint: it works better if you set your meter to ISO 160 and expose and develop accordingly. The negatives are absolutely beautiful, and seeing the finished work after enlarging is its own reward. Obviously, 4x5 sheet film is not the stuff for action shots. The average photographer is NOT going to try to capture action with a view camera, but it makes for gorgeous portraits and scenincs.

Panchromatic film especially suited to low-flare interior tungsten or flash lighting.
A longtime favorite for its beautiful tonal range and classic, cinematic look, this is one of the all-time great emulsions. Features a wide exposure latitude, excellent gradation and brilliant highlights and an ISO of 320. It offers medium contrast with a moderate degree of enlargement. In all sorts of shooting conditions, it yields negatives that are easy to print. The film is available with a 7-mil ESTAR Thick Base (sheets), and has a retouching surface on both sides. Good for corporate/industrial, editorial, fine art, general, law enforcement, and military/instrumentation photography, and for photojournalism.
TRI-x Pan Professional Films have an ISO speed of 320/26 Degree, and feature e x cellent tone gradation and brilliant highlights. They are especially well suited to low-flare interior lighting or flash illumination. They are also useful for portraiture with low-contrast backlighting outdoors.
TRI-x Pan Professional Film (TXP) is available in 120 and 220 sizes on a 3.6-mil acetate base. You can retouch this film on the emulsion or base side.
