Portable, lightning-fast gaming:

Seagate is taking gaming to the next level with the release of this pair of gaming solid-state drives. The FireCuda Gaming SSD and the BarraCuda Fast SSD are slightly different, but both bring an edge to agile gaming.

First, the FireCuda pairs Seagate’s NVMe 510 SSD with USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 interface. The result is stunningly fast read speeds of 2000 MB/s. For perspective, the latest USB 3.1 technology reads data at 1000 MB/s — half the speed. With data transfers this fast, gamers will notice improvements in everything from installing times, loading times, lagging, and rendering. The FireCuda comes in capacities of 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB, so you have enough storage for your extensive gaming library and the patch updates that always come. For aesthetic flare, Seagate included a customizable RGB LED light to the SSD. Users can hop in the Seagate Toolkit software suit to program their LEDs to match create their preferred gaming environment. The release comes on the heels of the FireCuda Gaming Dock and acts as a perfect complement.

Second, the BarraCuda SSD offers a solution more driven towards mobile gamers. The BarraCuda uses SATA technology to provide quick and reliable data transfers, while optimizing gameplay. This SSD uses USB 3.0 type-A technology and offers a read/write speed of up to 540 MB/s. The BarraCuda gives users up to 2 TB of space in a sleek, minimalist design, perfect for on-the-go gaming. And to sweeten the pot, Seagate is including a free, two-month Photoshop subscription for the creatives out there.
