Fujifilm has just unveiled its very first telephoto zoom lens for the GFX medium format system, an ideal new gear addition for landscape and nature photographers. The new lens brings the total number of GF lenses to nine, and is meant to weather the harshest elements, while still providing ultra-high image quality to boot.
The lens features a focal range of 100-200mm (that’s equivalent to 79-158mm when in 35mm format), but paired with the Fujinon 1.4x teleconverter, you can gain an extended focal length range (to 140-280mm), while maintaining the same image quality.
The lens includes five stops of image stabilization, and has 20 elements in 13 groups, and two Super ED lens elements, in addition to one aspherical lens element that work together to keep chromatic aberration to a minimum. The result is impressive image resolution and rich tonal reproduction throughout shooting.
It is weather-sealed to keep the gear dust- and weather-resistant, and can operate in environments with temperatures as low as -10°C, and in days with light rain and dusty settings.
The lens’ silent and high-speed autofocus is powered by a linear motor and mechanism that help to keep your shooting quiet, quick, and on-point.
The Fujifilm GF 100-200mm f/5.6 R LM OIS WR Zoom Lens is available for preorders starting January 18, 2019 at 12PM EST for at Adorama.
