The Sony E-mount full-frame lens series is getting a brand new addition. The newly-announced Sony FE 35mm F/1.8 wide-angle prime lens is the latest release that’s sure to delight landscape, food, and everyday photographers.
“Our E-mount lens lineup now includes 34 full-frame models and 52 lenses in total,” Neal Manowitz, deputy president of Imaging Products and Solutions Americas at Sony Electronics, says in a press release. “The new 35mm prime combines outstanding corner-to-corner sharpness with a compact design, making it an ideal choice for a wide range of shooters. Sony will continue to develop and expand its imaging lineup, giving creators more options than ever before to realize their vision.”

The lens — model SEL35F18F — features a compact and lightweight build that weighs in at just 280 grams, but is loaded with impressive features and an advanced optical construction. A 9-blade circular aperture allows for gorgeous bokeh, and an aspherical elements counteracts aberration to allow for high-resolution shots.
APS-C body users will be thrilled by the compact size of the lens, which also provides a 52.5mm-equivalent focal length for APS-C systems.
An added customizable focus hold button and focus mode switch allow for extra control and toggling between auto and manual focus modes. The quiet AF drive system brings accurate tracking for still and video, all at fast and precise speeds.
The entire lens is dust- and moisture-resistant, and compact and light enough for transport and on-the-go shooting.
