This film has been amazing for shooting concerts. We've loved the color tones and how it captures such a raw, human-like, nostalgic feel. This has become my go-to for concert & tour photo.

One of the most unique modern color films. I love the tungsten balance and halation it produces. Overhyped? Maybe, but there?s a reason it?s almost always out of stock.

This stuff flies off the shelves for a good reason! The moodiness, and color of this film is super special, and I will definitely be shooting with it for a long time!

Everything as stated. This is my first time using this product, so I am excited to see how the results come out, but I've heard great things about it.

I love using Cinestill film. This was actually my first time using it and it surpassed my expectations. The tonality, contrast, saturation, it’s all perfectly cinematic. It works exceptionally well indoors with artificial light and at night.

I used this film for a music gig with tons of colorful lights and the prints turned out incredibly colorful with beautiful contrast. Recommend for low-light.

For starters, there are a few idiots who have said that this is basically Portra film. This is incorrect, as Portra is a daylight-balanced film, and this is tungsten-balanced. This is Kodak 35mm movie film that has been cut and packed into 135 cartridges, but because it is not pre-exposed with frame indices and bar codes, it will not work with automated processing and the frames will not be indexed. The Keep in mind that tungsten means it was designed to work in conjunction with incandescent cinema lighting, not mercury, sodium, fluorescent, and other incandescent white balances, so don't expect consistent results if you aren't familiar with the type of lighting you're using. Electronic flash will look too blue, and you probably won't need flash anyway, but it works well with clear or amber-coated flashbulbs. I've gotten exceptional results at night without flash, shooting at 6400 ISO. Be aware that because the remjet layer is gone, you will see halos around bright spots, so use them to your advantage. When in doubt, it is better to underexpose than to overexpose this film. The purpose of this film is not to make your photographs look like movie stills, but to create unique effects and give you more flexibility when shooting in low-light situations. I would say this is the best high-speed tungsten film currently in production.

This is, essentially, Portra 800. During production, Kodak adds the RemJet backing to turn it into Vision3 500T, and this removes it later. The sprocket holes are different, but otherwise it's substantially the same in most respects as the more mainstream product - however, the addition and removal adds a bit more punch to the colors and leads it to blow highlights a bit more easily, and this makes it more fun to shoot - if you need to get the shot, head to Portra, though. Also, it's the canister is not DX coded. It's not a big deal, just a twiddle of a few knobs and everything is set properly, but something to note if you have one of the cameras that relies on DX coding.

Find the perfect film for your creative projects with the CineStill Xpro C-41 800Tungsten 35mm Color Negative Roll Film, available in a convenient 5-pack complete with a camera bag. This film is a game-changer for still photographers who want to harness the power of motion picture technology. CineStill 800Tungsten is an 800 ISO speed film that is tungsten-balanced, making it ideal for challenging low-light conditions. It is crafted using the same high-quality motion picture technology favored by leading cinematographers worldwide.
This versatile film adapts to various lighting situations, allowing photographers to achieve a wide range of visual effects. Thanks to CineStill's advanced manufacturing process, the 800T now boasts an extended shelf life, with reduced artifacts even after expiration. The film's advanced motion picture emulsion is optimized for a hybrid workflow, making it perfect for scanning. It is compatible with standard C-41 photo lab processing or Cs41 home processing, and can also be processed in Cs2 chemistry for low-contrast motion picture negatives.
When processed in C-41 chemistry, the film delivers a complementary contrast curve suitable for optical printing on RA-4 paper. Treat this film as a high-speed 800 ISO film for C-41 processing, with the flexibility to push process up to 3200 ISO when necessary. The new boxed CineStill film features an extended shelf life, but for optimal results, it should be stored in a refrigerator and used within six months of purchase. Once exposed, the film should be processed promptly in C-41 chemistry to maintain image quality and color fidelity.
For storage and handling, load and unload the film in subdued light conditions. Keep unexposed film refrigerated at 13 Degree C (55 Degree F) or lower in its original sealed package. Before opening, allow the film to reach room temperature to prevent moisture condensation. After exposure, process the film as soon as possible, and store processed film in a cool, dry place away from strong light to preserve its quality. Each current production of CineStill film includes an expiration date two years from the manufacture date, ensuring you have ample time to capture your creative vision.
