Because precision and control are paramount in photography and filmmaking, the 55mm HD MKII IRND 1000 Neutral Density 3.0 10-Stop Filter offers unparalleled ND control across both the visible and IR light spectrum. Utilizing HOYA's exclusive ACCU-ND technology, this filter ensures equal reduction of light in visible and IR spectrums, eliminating the common issue of color shift in diverse shooting conditions.
Neutral density filters are indispensable tools for both filmmakers and photographers. They provide the ability to precisely manage the amount of light passing through the lens. For filmmakers, this translates to shutter speeds that align perfectly with your frame-rate, while also maintaining creative depth-of-field control. For photographers, it enables longer exposures or shallower depth-of-field even in the brightest sunlight conditions.
The HD MKII IRND 1000 Neutral Density Filter is housed in a new low-profile, lightweight, precision-milled aluminum frame. This innovative frame design meticulously prevents light leaks and bleeding around the filter, which are common issues during long exposures. Additionally, it features front filter threads, allowing for the attachment of additional filters or a protective lens cap.
To further enhance its performance, the HD MKII IRND series incorporates an anti-reflection multi-coating. This significantly reduces reflections caused by scattered light rays, a critical concern during long exposures. A waterproof and oil repellent top-coat is also applied, facilitating easy cleaning and maintenance.
The selection of ND filters is largely dependent on the photographer's intent and the desired effect in the final image. If a single ND filter does not meet the demands of the situation or the photographer's vision, a combination of filters can be employed. For instance, stacking the HD MKII IRND 64 with the HD MKII IRND 1000 will provide 16 stops of light reduction, enabling you to capture the surface of the sun without overexposure. This flexibility makes the 55mm HD MKII IRND 1000 Neutral Density 3.0 10-Stop Filter a versatile tool in any photographer's or filmmaker's kit.
