With the 55mm HD MKII IRND 64 Neutral Density 1.8 6-Stop Filter from Hoya, you can achieve precise control over the light entering your camera lens across both the visible and IR light spectrum. This high-quality filter employs HOYA's exclusive ACCU-ND technology, ensuring equal reduction of light in visible and IR spectrums. This innovative feature eliminates the common issue of color shift, providing consistent, reliable results in any shooting conditions.
Neutral density filters are indispensable tools for both filmmakers and photographers. They offer the ability to fine-tune the amount of light passing through the lens. For filmmakers, this translates to shutter speeds that align with your frame-rate, while still maintaining creative depth-of-field control. For photographers, it enables longer exposures or shallower depth-of-field even in the brightest sunlight conditions.
This durable filter is housed in a new low-profile, lightweight, precision-milled aluminum frame. This design not only enhances its durability but also effectively prevents light leaks and bleeding around the filter that can occur during long exposures. The frame also includes front filter threads, allowing for the attachment of additional filters or a protective lens cap.
The HD MKII IRND series features an anti-reflection multi-coating that significantly reduces reflections caused by scattered light rays, a common concern during long exposures. Additionally, a waterproof and oil repellent top-coat is applied for easy cleaning and maintenance, making this filter as practical as it is effective.
The versatility of this filter allows for combining, or "stacking," filters to achieve the desired effect in the final image. If a single ND filter does not meet the demands of the situation or the photographer's vision, a combination of filters, such as the HD MKII IRND 64 + HD MKII IRND 1000, can provide up to 16 stops of light reduction. This level of control can even allow you to capture the surface of the sun without overexposure, making this filter an essential tool for any serious photographer or filmmaker.
