I bought this camera recently, fully aware that it has been discontinued by Canon. And I'm delighted with it. I have a kit of EF-M lenses which are all small, light and enjoyable, and the M6 MkII brings the very best out of them. EOS R is a great system, but even the smallest APS-C models will never quite match the size and fun of the EOS M system. So I'm going to continue enjoying M for a while!

I have had this wonderful little camera for a couple of years now. When I first got the camera I initially put it in my backpack camera bag but had to remove it and put it into a smaller bag as it was too small. The 30 megapixels meant that I was able to significantly crop the images and still get quality bird photos. It works well with my sigma 600mm zoom too. The color in the addon electronic viewfinder is not great but workable although the back screen is great and can be positioned in any angle.

A great upgrade is every way from my Canon 60D. It?s smaller, less expensive, much more capable.

So far, so great! I knew I wasn't going to like the way the LCD screen tilts compared to my Canon 60D and I'd prefer if the EV was a fixed part of the body but other than that, I am loving the size and portability and having a touch screen makes focusing and navigating the menus that much easier.

I was looking for a lighter, smaller camera for vacations instead of my 1Dmark IV I love it I have the adapter for my EF Lenses and it totally fits my needs. The controls are great, The flip screen flipping up is a little weird, but I also use the view finder. Again for me with all the lenses I have this was an in expensive way to have a smaller walk around camera. If you currently are invested in Canon lenses I would highly recommend.

I had bought the canon m50 mark II. I have enjoyed that little camera. I did everything I needed in a camera. The 22mm ef-m lens on the m50 produces excellent still images. Regarding the M6 mark II, however, I am unable to make the same claim. The stills are muddy and blurry, which is not the image quality I was expecting. I mostly do street photography and so I mostly shoot moving subjects. The m6 does not perform as well with moving subjects as well as the m50. The uncropped 4k is the only positive aspect of this camera. Avoid using this camera if you want a top-notch still camera.Besides that if you want a great still camera steer clear from this camera.

I love taking pictures, but I wouldn't consider myself a photographer. I've had 3-4 point-and-shoot cameras of several brands (Panasonic, Olympus, Kodak) in my lifetime and the most expensive camera I've ever owned is my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I've been looking for a mirrorless camera as DSLR may be extinct in the near future, and I liked the idea of a lighter camera. This is a great mid-range camera that's more expensive than a DSLR but nowhere near the high prices of professional-level full-frame mirrorless cameras. There are enough lenses in the Canon EF-M mount for a hobbyist/enthusiast, but a professional would probably want the R series to have more options. The camera modes have a tutorial-style image and what the mode does for those who are still learning the functions of the camera. Not having a permanent viewfinder may be a deterrent to some, but I find the inclusion of an optional electronic viewfinder to be convenient. I can attach it for outside photos on sunny days when the LCD screen would have to be cranked up to the max, but I don't have to use it inside and can rely on the screen. The touchscreen makes navigating menus much more convenient, and you can also use dials to manipulate values like aperture and shutter speed while using the camera. Canon cameras come with free software to edit your images that's around the level of Adobe Photoshop Elements, but is not as user-friendly for beginners. There's also an app to connect the camera to your phone to transfer photos, use your phone as a wireless remote, and add location data to your photos. The camera has no built-in GPS to tag photos on its own.

Good small form factor camera. Reasonable price. Only thing I was worried about is the build quality.

I love the weight, size and performance of this camera! I only wish Canon would make high quality lenses or any telephoto lens for that matter to fit this camera. I am forced to use EF lenses with an adaptor if I want to quality of an L lenses.

I read quite a few reviews of the M6 Mark II by sources I respect and was intrigued by it's capabilities and feature set - in addition to it's size comparison to the identically sensored EOS 90D. I also have Canon Full-Frame and APS-C DSLRs and a collection of lenses. I felt it was time to venture into the mirrorless world and the M6 MK II has turned out to be a great choice. One of the most common of reviewer's dings against the M6 MKII was it's lack of EVF, but really it was the need to buy it separately. The Canon M-EF/EF-S lens adapter allows you to use all your other Canon lenses with the M6 MKII. I've shot with everything from a EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM lens to a EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM Lens and several others in between. The image quality has been outstanding regardless of lens used. This would be a good time to mention that the 15-45mm kit lens is also a fantastic 24-70mm full frame equivalent lens. I've seen it criticized for it's plastic mount, but it does not feel cheap or flimsy in any way and it delivers great image quality. This camera also benefits from Canon's superb menu system. Two goals: I wanted to gain some mirrorless experience and benefit from a camera I can easily carry anywhere. I thought I might have to compromise on image quality or ergonomics to achieve that, but this kit has been an eye opener. The ergonomics are very different from a full size DSLR with battery grip, but it's just that, different, not better or worse. As has been so often said, the best camera is the one you have with you. With it's built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, you can use your phone to share your fantastic photos, not to take them. I don't see how anyone could be disappointed in this kit, especially if you are a Canon shooter. It's a bargain for a high quality setup. Highly recommended.

Incredible image quality especially when used in conjunction with Canon lens adapter with my other Canon L lenses (my other camera is a 50Mpx Canon 5DS R). It is so compact and stealthy--great for candid shots of shy friends & family. It is my go-to all-purpose travel camera--with 32 Mpx there is no image quality compromise.

I bought this for wildlife photography. I found that I wanted more megapixels incase I needed to crop to help keep my pictures sharp. Also, this camera is more than twice as fast as my other camera body. I like my other camera body better for most photography, but not wildlife. My image quality and hit rate has improved dramatically since getting this body. The rated battery like by CIPO is 305 images per charge. That rating includes using the flash 50% of the time. Why anyone would use the flash on this camera I don't know. I would never use a tiny flash like that. For wildlife of course it isn't needed. I am routinely shooting 300 to 400 pictures on a photo trip and only using about 50% of the battery. I ordered a spare battery, on backorder, but don't think I will really use it much. I am not cancelling it but I know longer view it as a requirement. The camera is light and tiny. It looks rather odd connected to my Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary lens but the images have been great. The autofocus is good. Tracking is nice. Even though there has been much improvement to autofocus since this camera was made the focus is still better than my DSLR.

The phone app and wifi are wonky. The camera sends out a wifi signal for your phone to connect to. Once connected you can use your phone to see what your camera is seeing without having to be behind the camera. While this feature does work, it's tough to get everything connected. Plus, the connection drops sometimes even when I am in the same room as the camera. The camera is otherwise good, but the issues with this feature are a bummer.

So far this camera has been amazing!! I was skeptical about this camera, and its size, quality of photo it was going to give me. I was blown away away. I paired it with a 50mm and the pictures were so clear and life like. Even with just the lens it’s comes with, the pictures are again! I didn’t mind having to purchase and adapter, to me it’s not a big deal for what I use it for.

I'd squeezed every last bit of life out of my T2i, and the M6 mkII feels like it's from the future by comparison. The ability to shoot in silence means I can photograph concerts of choral and chamber music. The EF-EOS M mount adapter means I can keep using my old lenses. The Android app allowing for live remote preview, wifi photo transfers and more, has been a revelation. And I appreciate that it's much less bulky.

M Medium Resolution (15 MP)
By solobackcountry
I cringed when I first heard about this camera. The idea of an extreme pixel density APS-C model did not appeal to me. After looking a bit deeper I noticed that the M medium resolution on this model (and 90D was 15 MP. Now that raised my eyebrows. Prior generation models were just too low at M resolution. 15 MP on APS-C is an excellent moderate pixel density. On the M6 Mark II (and 90D) you can have 15 MP paired to a modern high performance image sensor and processor. I'm using this camera wi...

My First Mirrorless Camera
By Jean W.
I find this camera to be perfect for its size; so much easier to carry around and use than the mirror models of Canon cameras. It is much lighter but the functions work in a similar manner making it easier to master. So far I am very pleased with the pictures that I have taken using this my first mirrorless camera. Canon is always my first choice!
